Reviews of Casa Reforma by Kukun

  • Marcos from United States – 5 January 2025 (9/10)

    The location, security, and amenities.

What could be improved: Unfortunately, some things didn't work (oven, water pot to heat water) and missing utensils. There was a smell the first bedroom shower.

  • Daniel from United States – 19 September 2024 (8/10)

Reforma 222 is a great location, and for the price, I think this place is a deal. This was the second Kukun we stayed in on our trip, and of the two, I probably liked this location better.

The amenities are great–having a running track on the roof of a building was especially appreciated, given my asthma typically prevents me from running outside in Mexico City. I also appreciated that someone met us on arrival–the guards at Reforma 222 can be understandably strict about entry, and I appreciated having someone to orient us and make sure the guards knew who we were.

The apartment itself is on the small side but still plenty of space for two people and at least as big as a hotel room would be. It's well furnished with a comfortable bed and nice furniture. The wifi was plenty fast for two people working remotely. I appreciated the water filter–which I think all Kukun apartments have these. Whoever cleaned the apartment last also did a great job–no dust bunnies anywhere.

Finally, we really appreciated that this apartment had AC. While it wasn't particularly hot while we were there, being on Reforma meant we didn't want to let all that highly polluted air in, especially being over a noisy shopping mall. The AC allowed us to keep the windows closed, which we greatly appreciated.

Overall, this is a pretty good apartment. We will definitely stay with Kukun again.

What could be improved: The bathroom is in serious need of a remodel, as the walls are stained, the calking has turned yellow, and the shower head sprays water everywhere. I imagine some descaling, fresh calking and new paint would fix 95% of the problems (and wouldn't cost much). It was also surprising because the rest of the apartment is very well cared for.

The second issue was the access–we were only given one badge, which was a massive pain for two people with different work schedules and plans to see friends. Kukun really needs to give you two keys. The kitchen also could have been better equipped. At very least, some pots from Ikea, please. Finally, the washer-dryer is a single unit that takes some getting used to and doesn't do the best job drying clothes. However, we knew this when we booked the apartment, so minor issue.

Overall, despite these drawbacks, we still had a good experience.

  • Eli from United States – 11 August 2024 (8/10)

The location is unbeatable next to a shopping mall. Police and building security there almost 24/7. Beautiful view from the balcony and pet friendly.

What could be improved: On the first night when we went to cook something ants attacked the kitchen right away. We think they came from the plants on the balcony but the door was closed. We also slept pretty hot in the room, there is ac but in the main living/dining room. It would be nice to have one added to the bedroom.

  • Daniel from Mexico – 3 July 2024 (9/10)

The place is clean and very comfortable

What could be improved: There was not a coffee machine, just an electric kettle

  • Sebastian from Mexico – 8 June 2024 (9/10)

    The location

What could be improved: The location, the view

  • Tara from Canada – 13 May 2024 (7/10)

Great location walkable to many places. Pool was nice and the apartment is large. Check in was easy and hosts very responsive to requests throughout our stay.

What could be improved: Bathroom was not updated, difficult to use the shower and not great water pressure. Very loud outside the windows at all hours as the apartment faces a busy street. AC only in bedroom.

  • Zach from United States – 7 May 2024 (9/10)

The rooftop outdoor space is great! So is the pool

What could be improved: The apartment seemed like it could have used a little deeper clean.

  • Andrea from Netherlands – 29 April 2024 (9/10)

The location is really great, right in Reforma and below a shopping mall . Facilities are super good with a swimming pool for laps, gym, parking, washing machine and a park. Overall I would stay here again!

What could be improved: The check in process was difficult as we had to wait 30mins for the host to arrive. Not amazing with a baby but after that, everything was great.

  • Sheryl from United States – 4 November 2023 (8/10)

    Location, roomy apartment.

What could be improved: Only one access card given for two bedroom apartment which means if someone in your group splits up they can’t get into the apartment until the person with the access card is back. I asked if the security guard at reception desk can buzz us up if they have our name on a guest list but was told no.

  • Jose from Guatemala – 18 May 2023 (8/10)

What could be improved: I did get apartment in pictures
