Prime location on the Zócolo and excellent, attentive service. Clean rooms and comfortable beds. The rooftop terrace is amazing — it is worth coming in day time and night time for wonderful city views. They even have a specific photo location on the terrace since the view is so nice.

Loved everything about it. Top notch service, wonderful facility. Super comfortable room. Would definitely stay again! Room with a view to Zocalo is definitely worth it!

We stayed 6 nights at Gran Hotel Ciudad de México with our daughter and absolutely loved everything.
Our room overlooking the Zócalo was stunning—spacious, beautifully decorated, and very comfortable.
Breakfast was excellent, with a wide and tasty selection. The hotel restaurant was also great, offering delicious food and a breathtaking view of the square. It’s also a lovely spot to enjoy a drink, especially at sunset.
The staff was really great—friendly, helpful, and professional.
The location felt very safe, with plenty of police presence around.
Nothing negative to say—a perfect stay!Katheryn from Canada – 17 May 2025 (8/10)
Location – close to historical centre and main city plaza. Lovely building and a free lounge with cookies, candies and water.
What could be improved: The staff were unorganized but did manage to get our requests figured out – it just took some time.
No towels in the room, perhaps it was laundry day as when they did arrive, they were bath mats, not bath towels.Anik from Canada – 12 May 2025 (10/10)
Hotel is located right on the Zocalo – great location to explore parts of the city – lots of shopping around. Our room had a view of the square however due to an event happening there our view was obstructed which was unfortunate but still could see a bit of what was going on.
What could be improved: obstructed view of the squareErnesto from United States – 10 May 2025 (10/10)
The ceiling is stunning, the pla is very nice
What could be improved: It’s not easy to get to by Uber or taxi, they drop you off on the street and you need to drag your suitcase for 1/2 a blockSabyasachi from Mexico – 3 May 2025 (10/10)
Everything (room, restaurant, services) is wonderful,
The hotel staff were helpful and courtesious, also exceeded my expectationsJudith from Australia – 3 May 2025 (8/10)
Most beautiful building- staff were very helpful. The location in the centre of the city very convenient to many historical sites
What could be improved: Had a room close to the square where festivities were occurring so quite noisy. Friends had a room at the back and it was much quieterSusan from New Zealand – 1 May 2025 (10/10)
I treated myself on my last night in Mexico. And they treated me! Champaign on arrival. Was given a history of the hotel by the friendly man who help me with the bags. The restaurant gives a great view of the squire but would give it a 5 out of ten.
What could be improved: The restaurant over rated.Alice from United States – 26 April 2025 (10/10)
GORGEOUS! A must see, even if you don’t stay here. The Tiffany ceiling is a masterpiece. The Terraza restaurant really does offer spectacular views of the Zocolo, especially at night.
The entire staff from the Doormen, to the waitstaff, to housekeeping are 5 stars! They greeted us with champagne flutes. There was a plate of sweets welcoming me to the hotel in the room. The maids serviced the room each day. The restaurant reserves space for their guests so you can walk in without a reservation.
The rooms are spacious with high ceilings and floor to ceiling windows. It truly is grand!
What could be improved: Every time the AC comes on and off, it makes a clanging sound like someone dropped a weight.
