Hacienda Peña Pobre Overview

Nestled in the vibrant heart of Mexico City, the exquisite four-star Hacienda Peña Pobre stands as a testament to elegant Mexican hospitality. Located at Camino Santa Teresa 480-2 in the tranquil 14266 district, this exceptional establishment has earned an outstanding 9.2 rating from satisfied guests, placing it among the most prestigious accommodations in Mexico’s captivating capital. The hacienda-style property beautifully blends traditional Mexican architectural elements with contemporary luxury, creating an atmosphere that feels both authentically cultural and supremely comfortable. Situated in the southern part of the city, the hotel offers a peaceful retreat from the bustling downtown while maintaining convenient access to many of Mexico City’s most cherished attractions. The Santa Teresa area is known for its lush greenery and more residential ambiance, providing guests with a glimpse into the everyday life of Mexico City’s residents while still enjoying premium accommodations.

The Hacienda Peña Pobre experience begins with its impressive façade, which hints at the thoughtful design and attention to detail that permeates the entire property. Inside, guests are greeted by spacious rooms adorned with handcrafted Mexican furnishings, rich textiles, and modern amenities that cater to both business and leisure travelers. The exceptional 9.2 rating reflects the hotel’s unwavering commitment to personalized service, with staff members consistently praised for their warm hospitality and intimate knowledge of the surrounding area. The property’s courtyards and garden areas create serene spaces for reflection, while the on-site dining options showcase the diverse flavors of Mexican cuisine using locally-sourced ingredients. Just a short distance from the ecological reserve of Pedregal de San Ángel and within reach of the cultural hub of Coyoacán – once home to Frida Kahlo and Diego Rivera – the hotel serves as an ideal base for exploring both natural and cultural landmarks. The nearby Periférico boulevard provides easy access to other parts of the city, including the historic center with its magnificent Zócalo plaza and pre-Hispanic ruins.

What truly distinguishes Hacienda Peña Pobre from other four-star accommodations in Mexico City is its ability to create an authentic Mexican experience without sacrificing modern comforts. The thoughtfully designed spaces incorporate traditional elements like talavera tiles, wooden beams, and wrought iron accents, while still providing high-speed internet, premium bedding, and contemporary bathroom fixtures. The near-perfect guest rating of 9.2 speaks volumes about the consistent quality of both the physical facilities and the attentive service. Many guests particularly appreciate the hotel’s balance of accessibility and seclusion – close enough to major attractions to explore the city with ease, yet removed enough to escape the noise and congestion of more tourist-heavy districts. Whether enjoying a morning coffee in the sun-dappled courtyard, networking with colleagues in the sophisticated meeting spaces, or returning to your comfortable room after a day of exploration, Hacienda Peña Pobre offers a distinctly Mexican luxury experience that honors the country’s rich heritage while embracing contemporary hospitality standards. For travelers seeking an authentic, high-quality stay in Mexico’s dynamic capital, Hacienda Peña Pobre represents an exceptional choice that consistently exceeds expectations.

  • Kenneth from United States – 30 April 2025 (8/10)

    Cool, nice

What could be improved: Bed is too hard. Beautiful place. Too bad the surrounding area is not as great.

  • Marc from Brazil – 29 April 2025 (10/10)

    Architecture, design, quietness
    Breakfast green juice

  • Howman from United States – 20 April 2025 (10/10)

Amazing place to rest and relax!

What could be improved: Spotless and beautiful architectural hacienda with all the commodities of modern life.

  • Alps66 from Mexico – 10 February 2025 (9/10)

The food is good but can be a bit cold in the terrace

What could be improved: The new rooms can be a bit cold as well as eating on the terrace during winter obviously
Also it is a shame that you need more than 1 night to stay at the hotel

  • Adriana from Mexico – 8 February 2025 (9/10)

What could be improved: The shower doesn’t have hot water

  • William from United States – 7 February 2025 (9/10)

Room was great, is really is a boutique hotel, beautiful, small. Large TV worked very well. Spacious bathroom. we were in one of the terrace rooms which are modern and accessed by a large, architectural spiral staircase, which was dramatic and I liked, but if you have trouble with stairs may not be a great choice.

What could be improved: It's a small hotel in a historic building. The dining menu isn't extensive, but was good. The gym is a postage stamp (I didn't care). My one wish was that the in room desk be larger, it's very shallow.

  • Martinez from United States – 2 February 2025 (10/10)

    Great private place to stay

What could be improved: The service was the most impressive and value to the hotel
