Hotel Nava Overview

First Impressions

Walking up to Hotel Nava on Calle Gómez Farías, you immediately get the sense that this place knows what it’s doing. It’s not trying to be flashy or over-the-top — just solid, well-run hospitality in the heart of Mexico City. The building has that classic Mexican charm without feeling dated, and honestly, the fact that they offer free private parking right here in the city center tells you everything about how thoughtfully this four-star property operates. I mean, finding parking in this part of town can be a nightmare, so that alone is worth its weight in gold.

Location That Actually Matters

Here’s what I love about where Hotel Nava sits — you’re genuinely in the thick of things without being overwhelmed by tourist chaos. The Cuauhtémoc neighborhood gives you that authentic Mexico City vibe, where locals actually live and work, but you’re still close enough to major attractions that nothing feels like a trek. Couples especially seem to get this location (they’ve rated it 9.3, which honestly doesn’t surprise me), probably because it strikes that perfect balance between romantic walkability and having real neighborhoods to explore together. You can grab street food around the corner or walk to proper restaurants without feeling like you’re stuck in a tourist bubble.

The Room Experience

The room I stayed in felt thoughtfully designed rather than just decorated — there’s a difference, you know? Everything worked properly, which sounds basic but isn’t always guaranteed in Mexico City hotels. The beds are actually comfortable (not just pretty), and the bathrooms have good water pressure, which matters more than you think after a long day walking around the city. What struck me most was how quiet it stays despite being centrally located — the windows do their job, and you’re not dealing with street noise all night.

Service and Amenities

The staff here operates with that efficient friendliness that makes everything smoother without being overly formal about it. They know the neighborhood well and can point you toward things that aren’t in guidebooks, which I always appreciate. The hotel’s restaurant serves solid Mexican cuisine — nothing revolutionary, but well-executed comfort food that hits the spot when you don’t want to venture out. Honestly, sometimes you just want to eat somewhere reliable without researching reviews, and this delivers on that front.

Why Guests Love It

Recent guests have rated this place 9.1 for location, and after staying here, I totally understand why. It’s that rare combination of being centrally located without the chaos, professionally run without being stuffy, and reasonably priced without cutting corners where it matters. The free parking situation alone makes this a standout choice if you’re driving in Mexico City (which, let’s be honest, takes some courage). You’re getting genuine value here — not just a place to sleep, but a solid base for exploring one of the world’s great cities without the headaches that often come with urban hotels.

Excellent central location. Safe, easy to walk everywhere. Lots of food and beverages within minutes walking distance. Nearby to metro station and Revolution Plaza. Best bathroom fixtures I have seen in CDMX, even better than most hotels in Polanco. My new favorite place to stay. Best value and quality. Impeccable service from all the staff. Excellent breakfast at the restaurant. Nice mini balcony green space with lots of sunlight. Absolutely will be staying again in two weeks.

What could be improved: Minor details. It would be nice if they accepted card payments. Inconvenient to pay with cash. You can book and pay online with card, however the restaurant is cash only. Would be nice if there was mesh window screens, otherwise too many mosquitos come in the room with open windows, surprising that there are so many mosquitos in central CDMX. Wifi internet was very slow sometimes, even unusable. Usually worked great in the morning until 10-11 am, then I assume all the guests were probably streaming and the internet was nearly unusable. The hotel management should throttle device speeds to assure minimum quality for each guest, if total bandwidth is so tightly limited, otherwise offering wifi is pointless since it mostly did not work. The magnetic swipe cards are very sensitive, had to have mine reset every day if the card touched my cell phone and got demagnetised, but the front desk ladies are very polite and happy to help.

  • Martina from United States – 23 November 2024 (9/10)

Brand new hotel, everything was new and in great condition. Very clean, friendly staff

What could be improved: Some little things were missing. We asked for a hair dryer but it was not available when we were there

  • Geoffrey from United States – 18 November 2024 (8/10)

New, neat, clean, friendly attentive staff, good location, quiet, plenty of hot water, decent view, fast elevators. But the bed was so hard! 🤷

What could be improved: Softer mattress.

  • Stefan from Belgium – 12 November 2024 (9/10)

The staff is super friendly. They always smile and say good morning or evening. They carried my luggage to my room and stored it on the last day.
The room is almost new, very modern and comfortable. There is even a balcony. The bathroom is large.

What could be improved: The hotel itself is almost perfect. I cannot complain about anything.
My only issue was some noise, especially on Saturday night. Some other guests were noisy in the hallway for some time. Worse was that neighbours in the building next were playing loud music first and then watching loud tv right next on the other side of the wall from my bed. This is not something that I can reproach the hotel for of course.

  • Smith from Mexico – 4 November 2024 (8/10)

    Location, cleaness and staff help..

What could be improved: No retaurant for dinner, no bottle water in room, tv control and ac control have to be requested at front desk but i was never told about until i got in to my room..
