  Fairly new hotel only a few subway stops from both the zocalo (main square) and cathedral to the east and from the big park to the west. It was well maintained and the staff extra friendly and helpful, most speaking enough English. The buffet breakfast had plenty of choices (tea, coffee, cereal, fresh fruit, fruit juices, breads, eggs along with Mexican choices like refried beans and rice). Both the room and bathroom were spacious and the bed and pillows very firm with somewhat comfortable sheets. The a/c worked well. The hotel is an oasis in a somewhat gritty and unpolished yet safe neighborhood. There was a nice cafe a few doors down but otherwise nothing enticing in the area. The artisanal market is a few blocks away which was great for shopping.
  
  What could be improved: The sheets weren't that soft and felt almost like paper towels. The rainfall shower was nice yet most of the holes were somewhat clogged so the water pressure was minimized. The neighborhood was quiet and "rough around the edges" so daily we had to walk 10-15 minutes north which gave plenty of restaurant and store options.

  Lovely big room and great breakfast. Room was quiet and very comfortable.
  Only. 10 min walk to centre and easy access to metro and buses. Lots of cafes nearby.
