Roma Norte Apartments by VH Overview

First Impressions

Walking up to Roma Norte Apartments by VH on Avenida Sonora, you immediately get that “this is exactly where I want to be” feeling. The building sits right in the heart of one of Mexico City’s most vibrant neighborhoods, and honestly, the location alone makes this place special. I mean, you’re literally surrounded by some of the best cafes, galleries, and restaurants the city has to offer — it’s the kind of spot where you can just wander out your door and stumble into something amazing.

The Neighborhood Advantage

Roma Norte is where locals actually hang out, not just tourists, and that makes all the difference. You’ve got Parque México just a few blocks away for morning runs, and the Sunday markets are close enough that you can grab fresh produce if you’re planning to cook. The tree-lined streets here feel completely different from the chaos of other parts of the city — there’s this relaxed, almost European vibe that couples especially seem to love (and the 8.8 location rating from couples backs that up). What I really appreciate is how walkable everything is; you don’t need to rely on taxis or the metro for every little thing.

The Apartment Experience

These aren’t your typical hotel room — each apartment actually feels like a proper living space. The kitchen setup is surprisingly well-equipped, which is great because sometimes you just want to make coffee the way you like it or grab a late-night snack without calling room service. The design strikes this nice balance between modern functionality and local character, though I wouldn’t call it flashy. It’s more about comfort and practicality, which honestly works better for longer stays anyway.

What Makes It Work

The four-star rating feels spot-on — this isn’t trying to be the fanciest place in town, but it nails the things that actually matter. The staff knows the neighborhood well and can point you toward hidden gems that aren’t in guidebooks. There’s reliable wifi (crucial if you’re working remotely), and the building itself is quiet enough that you can actually sleep, even though you’re in the middle of everything. Plus, having your own space means you can come and go as you please without dealing with typical hotel lobby scenes.

Why Guests Love It

That 8.5 overall rating and 8.9 location score aren’t accidents — this place gets the fundamentals right. You’re staying in one of Mexico City’s coolest neighborhoods without paying resort prices, and you get the independence of an apartment with the reliability of a hotel. Whether you’re here for a romantic getaway or just want to experience the city like a local, the location gives you options. You can walk to dinner, explore art galleries on lazy afternoons, or just sit in a nearby cafe and watch the neighborhood come alive. It’s the kind of place where you end up extending your stay because leaving feels like a mistake.

Reviews of Roma Norte Apartments by VH

  • Eimear from Ireland – 15 May 2025 (9/10)

Fantastic stay, great location, brilliant for a group as it had so much space! Excellent value for money

What could be improved: There was only tea in the kitchen. There weren’t any condiments or coffee which might have been nice if staying longer. There are no many nice coffee places nearby that it didn’t bother us at all

  • Jaime from Spain – 23 April 2025 (8/10)

Very good location, close to public transportation and many interesting food options in a walkable area. The bed was huge and comfortable. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Thanks!

What could be improved: Overall okay, but the photos seemed better than what it was. The walls of our room were thin, so you could hear almost everything in the room next door (and there was a family with a baby). We were on the first floor and during our stay there was always a very bad smell in the corridor. The kitchen had cooking utensils but did not have basics, like salt or matches for the stove. The walls looked like they could all use a fresh coat of paint.

  • Carlos from Mexico – 7 April 2025 (9/10)

The property has a very good location, close to public transport and in a vibrant neighborhood with plenty of options to eat out and for every budget at any time of the day.

  • Carlos from Colombia – 5 January 2025 (9/10)

It has an exceptional location close to restaurants, bars, and parks

What could be improved: The room can get hot in warm days. The bathroom was huge, but the space distribution and design are not nice

  • Kristine from United States – 31 December 2024 (9/10)

very accessible. public transportation very close. but very walkable, which we did primarily. and easily accessible by uber. convenience store next door open 24/7 wed-sun. a lot of restaurants in the area. comfortable bed. nice room.

What could be improved: the water pressure of the shower was very low which made it hard for me as someone w/ thick, long curly hair to get a good wash in. also, we were warned as women travelers to be extra cautious when walking in the area past 10 for potential robbery.

  • Mildred from Mexico – 23 December 2024 (9/10)

It’s in a good zone, the room is very pretty and all the staff was very helpful and nice during our stay.

What could be improved: The only thing was the shower, it’s was either super hot or really cold water

  • Pamela from United States – 30 June 2024 (9/10)

    We like everything

What could be improved: They only have one little fan in the room and Mexico City’s weather was extremely hot

  • Monserrat from Costa Rica – 14 November 2023 (9/10)

Clean, friendly staff and nice facilities

  • Ynotini from United States – 6 August 2023 (9/10)

Place is a GREAT VALUE. Excellent location, secure, safe and would definitely stay here again.

What could be improved: The woman at the front, was meh, the guy is amazing. Just more friendly, personable and communicative.

  • Joel from United States – 21 June 2023 (8/10)

It was a centrical location near principal streets and avenues, lot of traffic tho

What could be improved: Remote wasn't working and instructions were not clear, they took some time to fix it but the host was really nice
