301 Historic building 1Bdrm 1bath AC Rooftop Overview
First Impressions
Walking up to 301 Historic building 1Bdrm 1bath AC Rooftop on 5 de Febrero, you immediately sense you’re stepping into something special. This four-star property sits in one of those beautifully preserved buildings that makes Mexico City so captivating — you know, the kind where every brick seems to have a story. The entrance might be modest, but honestly, that’s part of its charm. You’re not dealing with some massive hotel lobby here; instead, you get this intimate feeling that you’re about to discover a hidden gem.
The Space Itself
The apartment layout is what really sets this place apart from your typical hotel experience. You’ve got a proper one-bedroom setup with a full bathroom, and the air conditioning actually works well — which, trust me, you’ll appreciate during those warm Mexico City afternoons. The space feels lived-in but well-maintained, with those high ceilings and original architectural details that remind you you’re staying somewhere with real history. I mean, the building itself tells the story of this neighborhood’s evolution over the decades.
That Rooftop Though
Here’s where things get interesting — the rooftop access is genuinely fantastic. You can see across the historic center from up there, and it’s one of those spots where you’ll find yourself lingering longer than planned. Whether you’re having morning coffee or evening drinks, the views give you this perfect perspective on how the old and new parts of the city blend together. It’s not some fancy rooftop bar setup, but that actually makes it better — more authentic, less touristy.
Location & Neighborhood
The location on 5 de Febrero puts you right in the thick of things without the chaos of the main tourist strips. You’re walking distance to the Zócalo and all the major historic sites, but you’re also close to some really good local spots that most visitors never find. The street itself has this great mix of small shops, cafeterías, and everyday Mexico City life happening around you. Recent guests have been rating the location at 9.0, and honestly, I get why — it’s that sweet spot where you feel like you’re experiencing the real city.
Why Guests Love It
What keeps people coming back (and rating it 8.5 overall) is how this place manages to feel both historic and comfortable. Couples especially seem to love it here — there’s something romantic about staying in a piece of the city’s architectural heritage while still having modern conveniences like reliable AC and a private bathroom. You’re not just booking a room; you’re getting this whole experience of living like a local in one of Mexico City’s most characterful neighborhoods. The combination of the historic building, that amazing rooftop, and the unbeatable location creates something you just can’t replicate in a standard hotel.
Hotel in Mexico bookings spike during Formula 1 race week, so fans lock in suites overlooking Reforma’s parade route.

Reyes from Mexico – 10 April 2025 (9/10)
