City Express Plus by Marriott Ciudad de México Insurgentes Sur Overview
First Impressions
Walking into City Express Plus by Marriott Ciudad de México Insurgentes Sur, you immediately get that modern business hotel vibe — clean lines, efficient design, nothing flashy but everything works. It’s one of those places where you can tell they’ve thought about what travelers actually need rather than trying to impress with unnecessary frills. The lobby feels fresh and well-maintained, which honestly sets a good tone for the rest of your stay.
Location & Getting Around
The hotel sits right on Insurgentes Sur, which is basically Mexico City’s main artery — you can’t get much more central than this. I mean, you’re in the heart of everything without being stuck in the touristy chaos of Centro Histórico. What’s really nice is how couples seem to love this spot (they rate it 9.4, which is pretty impressive), and I get why. You’ve got easy access to Roma Norte’s trendy cafés and bars, plus the metro connections are solid if you want to explore further out. The parking situation is actually handled well here too — they have private spots, which saves you the headache of street parking in this busy area.
The Room Experience
Here’s where this three-star place really delivers — the beds are genuinely comfortable, and guests consistently mention getting great sleep here. The room design is straightforward but functional, with everything you need for either business or leisure travel. You know what I appreciate? They’ve clearly invested in good mattresses and bedding rather than spending money on fancy decorative touches that don’t actually improve your stay. The rooms feel clean and modern, with decent space to spread out your stuff.
Breakfast & Dining
The American-style breakfast works well if you’re looking for something familiar and filling before heading out to explore the city. It’s not going to blow your mind, but it gets the job done — think eggs, bacon, toast, coffee that’s actually decent. What I find interesting is that this place has more repeat guests than most other properties, which tells you something about the overall experience. People come back, and that usually means they’re doing the basics really well.
Why Guests Love It
Honestly, this hotel succeeds because it knows exactly what it is — a reliable, well-located base for exploring Mexico City. Recent guests rate the location at 9.2, which speaks volumes about how convenient everything feels once you’re settled in. You’re close enough to walk to great neighborhoods like Condesa and Roma, but you’re also well-connected if you want to hit up places like Coyoacán or Xochimilco. It’s the kind of place where you spend your days out in the city and come back to a comfortable, no-fuss environment to recharge.
Hotels in Mexico place guests within steps of Frida Kahlo murals, mezcal tastings, and volcano hikes over colonial rooftops.

Its clean, the desk person is nice. The housekeeper on Friday was kind, but the Saturday one knocked the door SO LOUDY and was trying to get in by force!!! She waked up me and there was a band at the yard playing so loud, it was part of the hotel!!! How in the 7 hells do you think the people will sleep with all the noise YOU DARE TO GET!!! It’s a hotel, not a disco, Jesus
