Collection Suites by Kukun Overview

First Impressions

When I first walked into Collection Suites by Kukun, I honestly wasn’t sure what to expect from a three-star property in Mexico City. But you know what? This place surprised me in the best way. The lobby feels modern and clean — not fancy, but definitely well-maintained. The staff greeted me in both Spanish and English, which I appreciated since my Spanish is, well, pretty terrible. There’s something refreshing about a hotel that knows exactly what it is and does it well.

Location & Getting Around

The location on Juan Salvador Agraz is actually brilliant if you’re planning to explore the city with a partner — couples seem to really love this spot, and I can see why. You’re in Santa Fe, which might not sound familiar, but it’s this business district that’s become quite trendy. I mean, it’s not the historic center, but you can easily get there by metro or taxi. What I really liked was having parking right on site — driving in Mexico City can be intense, so knowing your car is secure makes a huge difference. Plus, there are some solid restaurants within walking distance if you don’t feel like venturing far after a long day.

The Suite Experience

Here’s where this place really shines — the suites are spacious and thoughtfully designed. My room had this great separation between the sleeping area and a little sitting space, which made it feel more like an apartment than a typical hotel room. The kitchenette was basic but functional — perfect for making coffee in the morning or storing snacks you pick up from local markets. The bed was comfortable (not amazing, but definitely good), and the bathroom was modern with decent water pressure. Honestly, for the price point, I was impressed with how much space you get.

Daily Life at the Hotel

The restaurant downstairs serves decent Mexican and international dishes — nothing that’ll blow your mind, but solid comfort food when you don’t want to venture out. Breakfast was simple but fresh, with good coffee that actually tasted like coffee. The WiFi worked well throughout the building, which is crucial when you’re trying to navigate a new city or catch up on work. I spent some evenings just relaxing in the common areas, and there’s this nice quiet atmosphere that makes it easy to unwind. The housekeeping staff was thorough without being intrusive.

Why Guests Love It

What really sets Collection Suites by Kukun apart is how it balances comfort with practicality. You’re not paying for unnecessary frills, but you’re getting genuine value — spacious accommodations, a great location that locals actually recommend, and service that feels personal rather than corporate. It’s the kind of place where you can settle in for a few days and actually feel at home. The fact that recent guests consistently rate the location so highly tells you something — this isn’t just convenient, it’s actually where you want to be. For travelers who appreciate substance over flash, this place delivers exactly what you need.

Reviews of Collection Suites by Kukun

  • Eva from Mexico – 16 March 2025 (3/10)

the view has always been great. this is a rebranded and “remodeled” hotel, the only good thing left is the view.

What could be improved: Horrible, DIRTY, no maintenance, no staff, only whatsapp “help” with unhelpful people behind it. They leave a poor “security” guy that cant help with anything. overall horrible. Room was freezing, you cannot control the temp, and they told me, through whatsapp, that I couldn’t have another blanket or anything else until the next day (i asked for it at 5:30pm) because there was no staff to give it to me. Cannot express how dirty and broken everything is

  • Abraham from Mexico – 4 March 2025 (5/10)

    The location and building

What could be improved: The rooms are without maintenance my shower was not working and had to leave the hotel because no one went to fix it

  • Marios from Greece – 27 February 2025 (9/10)

The views and the whole decoration was great. There is a parking next to the building which is convenient ( maybe slightly pricey but very convenient )

What could be improved: Even though the place looks nice you can tell it needs some attention. Communication was available only via texting as they never picked up the phone when we had a small issue with the water.

  • Fernando from Mexico – 21 February 2025 (6/10)

    Muy moderno

What could be improved: Las cortinas nunca bajaron

  • Aldo from Mexico – 15 January 2025 (7/10)

La ubicación y la vista es de lo mejor

What could be improved: Es difícil el acceso con las claves que mandan porque la chapa no es tan sensible al tacto

  • Gomez from Colombia – 7 December 2024 (9/10)

    Stunning view
    Comfortable bed

What could be improved: The condition air wasn’t freeze enough

  • Juan from United States – 20 September 2024 (3/10)

Is close to santa fe plaza

What could be improved: Was quite dirty, air conditioning was not working and getting to do the check in is tedious. At the lobby there’s a safety ward and the check in is done by whatsapp. Also the hotel is hard to find

  • Maxime from Canada – 6 August 2024 (1/10)

    Nothing

What could be improved: Worst experience ever! No staff on the premises except a security guard which tried to help us. We when got in our room it ess already occupied by someone. If we were bad people we could have robbed their things. After waiting for an hour we got another room which was also occupied. Headquarters doesn't know which room are occupied or not. Then we got another room which was a lot smaller and less nicer than what we paid for originally. At that point it was so frustrating that we decided to not stay at kukun and leave to find something better. We asked for a refund and the next day we received a message from Kukun that they would refund us. It's been more than a week and I haven't received any refund. They said they requested booking.com to refund us but they haven't been refunding us yet and i have no one contacting us. I feel like we have been robbed of our money. Worst experience ever!!!!

  • Andrés from Colombia – 5 July 2024 (2/10)

    The view was great

What could be improved: This is only based on my personal experience, but I had a terrible time with the cleanliness of the hotel room. There was dust everywhere, and every time I hung a shirt in the closet, puffs of dust would come out. The shower also wasn't very clean and the sink had hair.

However, the worst issue was with the pipes. Only scalding hot water came out of the shower and sink. I complained about this as soon as I noticed the problem. They kept assuring me someone would be sent to fix it and that the technician was on their way. Unfortunately, for hours, no one ever showed up. I even had security come check the water temperature in my room, and they confirmed it was too hot to take a shower.

When I escalated the issue further to management, they completely disregarded the fact that no technician had arrived. Instead, they just sent me a link with instructions on how to turn on the cold water. This was after I had already sent them proof that there was a clear problem with the pipes or water switches.

I have tons of pictures and videos on all the issues mentioned above.
