Departamento Diana Downtown Reforma Overview

First Impressions

Walking into Departamento Diana Downtown Reforma, you immediately get that “local apartment” vibe rather than typical hotel sterility — and honestly, that’s exactly what makes this place work. It’s a three-star property that doesn’t try to be something it’s not, but what it does offer is a genuine slice of Mexico City life right in one of the most walkable neighborhoods you could ask for. The building itself has that classic Mexico City character, and you can tell this isn’t some cookie-cutter chain operation.

The Zona Rosa Advantage

Here’s what I love about the location — you’re on Hamburgo street, which puts you right in the heart of Zona Rosa without the chaos of the main drags. You can actually walk to Reforma avenue in about three minutes, but you’re tucked away enough that you’re not dealing with constant traffic noise. The neighborhood has this great mix of local taquerias and international restaurants, plus you’re close enough to Chapultepec Park that morning runs are totally doable. I mean, couples rate this spot really highly, and after spending time here, I get why — there’s something romantic about having your own little apartment base while exploring the city together.

Your Home Base Setup

The room setup is what really sets this apart from standard hotel stays. You get apartment-style accommodations with a proper kitchen area, which honestly saves you so much money when you want to grab groceries from the local markets and make breakfast or late-night snacks. The space feels lived-in rather than showroom perfect, but everything works well and you’ve got enough room to actually spread out your stuff. Recent guests have been rating the location at 9.7 out of 10, and you know what? That tracks — I’ve stayed in fancier places in Mexico City that felt way less connected to the actual city.

Practical Perks

One thing that surprised me was the free private parking situation — in this part of Mexico City, that’s actually a pretty big deal. Most places either don’t have it or charge you extra for the privilege. The building management is responsive, and while the amenities aren’t extensive, what’s there works reliably. You’re not getting a fancy spa or elaborate breakfast spread, but you are getting a solid base for exploring everything from the historic center to Polanco without feeling like you’re staying in some tourist bubble.

Why Guests Love It

This place works because it gives you the independence of having your own space while keeping you connected to real Mexico City life. The restaurant scene around here is fantastic — you’ve got everything from street food to upscale dining within walking distance, and the metro connections mean you can get anywhere in the city pretty easily. It’s not trying to be a resort experience, but if you want to live like a local for a few days while having reliable wifi and your own space to decompress, Departamento Diana Downtown Reforma delivers exactly that. Plus, honestly, the value proposition is solid — you’re getting way more space and freedom than you’d find at most hotels in this price range.

Hotel in Mexico bookings spike during Formula 1 race week, so fans lock in suites overlooking Reforma’s parade route.

Reviews of Departamento Diana Downtown Reforma

  • Cecilia from Mexico – 21 April 2025 (8/10)

Tos la ubicación es increíble está perfecta, hay muchas cosas cerca, el departamento súper cómodo, todo estuvo muy bien

What could be improved: Nada la verdad todo estuvo muy bien

  • Claudia from Australia – 30 January 2025 (9/10)

    Location and comfort

What could be improved: A bigger pot in the kitchen

  • Brandon from United States – 19 September 2023 (6/10)

The location was centrally located in a prime location for many attractions.

What could be improved: This place did not have an a/c or fan in the unit. The only option was to open the windows and balcony door. None of the windows had screens to prevent mosquitoes. We encountered several bites. The unit was infested with mosquitoes. The restroom toilets did not flush properly.

  • Berenice from United States – 30 June 2023 (9/10)

Plates, cups, mugs, utensils all available for use. Plenty of toilet paper and clean towels. Great location, awesome balcony.

What could be improved: The sheets looked unwashed. Toilet in master bedroom doesn’t flush well.

  • Christian from United States – 6 May 2023 (8/10)

I loved that the building has 24 hour security. The check in was really simple and once we entered the apartment we loved how spacious it was. Solid walls and could not hear neighbors. The balcony was nice to get some fresh air. I loved having a full kitchen and spacious rooms during our stay. It is a quick walk to the Angel of Independence and to many restaurants, bars, and museums. C. Genova is a strip of restaurants and bars that is worth checking out. The laundry room is located on a separate floor but it is available to use for free. You just need to check in with the front desk so they can let you in to use it. You just need to make sure to bring your own laundry detergent. There is a garbage shoot located next to the elevator so that made it easy to get rid of trash daily. I will definitely stay here again and would recommend it to anyone visiting in CDMX

What could be improved: Everything was really great but It would have been nice to have a key to the laundry room instead of having the front desk let us in. I think what would have made it better would be if the unit had air conditioning but it wasn't too bad. We kept the windows open to have the air circulating.

  • Federico from United States – 2 May 2023 (6/10)

    Location

What could be improved: * Balcony door doesn't close – not working. I reported, and she didn't care
    * The glass shower doors don't work. A big person would not be able to get into the shower in the main room.
    * Similar situation with the glass shower in the second bathroom
    * The curtains in the living room are torn
    * Very dirty armchairs

This property was pretty much perfect. Perfect space, perfect location, excellent amenities, felt very secure and we really really enjoyed our stay. No question that I will be back here when I'm in Mexico City. I just loved it.

What could be improved: There is a slight smell of cigarrrette smoke in the living room. Many won't bother, but my wife is actually sensitive to that and was a bit annoying to her. The electronic lock doesn't always lock when you are closing from the outside.. It takes several tries in my experience.

  • Dhaval from United States – 2 January 2023 (7/10)

The location was the best and close to metro station

What could be improved: The beds and bedsheets were not great. They should atleast change them to hotel level bedding.

  • Andrea from United Kingdom – 23 October 2022 (9/10)

The apartment is huge, clean and located in a very nice area. Close to Chapultepec and the paseo de la reforma. Check-in and check-ot were very easy. I would definitely stay in this apartment again.

What could be improved: It was all perfect. Personally I had some problems with the bed as I did not find it particularly comfortable, but I was the only person having this issue out of 6.

  • Artemiza from Mexico – 22 June 2022 (9/10)

It is very well located, central zone in CDMX. Parking outside the building was available with parking meter. The apartment spaces are wide.

What could be improved: There are no dishes, glasses, any tableware available, only disposable cups, not eco-friendly.
Also, the windows and balcony do not have mosquito nets. The was hot weather and we couldn´t open the windows in the rooms because of the mosquitos.
The shower drain does not work very well, so, it is needed to open it completely so the water really flows.
