Caliza Roma Residences by Tasman Overview
First Impressions
Walking up to Caliza Roma Residences by Tasman, you immediately notice this isn’t your typical hotel setup. It’s actually more like stepping into a well-designed residential building in one of Mexico City’s most talked-about neighborhoods. The three-star property has this understated elegance that feels refreshingly honest — no flashy lobby trying too hard, just clean lines and thoughtful details that make you feel like you’re staying somewhere locals would actually want to live.
The Roma Norte Advantage
Here’s what I love about the location on Jalapa street — you’re right in the heart of Roma Norte without being on one of those crazy busy avenues that never quiet down. You know how some hotels claim to be “centrally located” but you end up walking forever to get anywhere interesting? Well, this place actually delivers. I mean, you can walk to Parque México in about eight minutes, and there’s this fantastic coffee shop called Blend Station literally around the corner that locals swear by. The couples who stay here consistently rave about the neighborhood, and honestly, I get it — there’s something romantic about strolling these tree-lined streets in the evening.
Your Space
The room situation here is where things get interesting. These are proper residences, so you’re getting way more space than a typical hotel would offer. Each unit has a full kitchen setup — and I’m talking about a real kitchen, not some sad mini-fridge situation. The furnishings lean modern but comfortable, with these great big windows that actually open (you’d be surprised how rare that is). What really struck me was the attention to storage space — there are proper closets and drawers, which makes longer stays feel much more civilized.
Practical Perks
Let’s talk about the stuff that actually matters when you’re traveling. The parking situation is genuinely impressive for this part of the city — having a secure spot on-site means you don’t have to play the daily game of hunting for street parking in Roma Norte. The building itself feels secure without being fortress-like, and the staff knows the neighborhood well enough to give you real recommendations, not just the tourist handbook stuff. There’s reliable WiFi throughout, which matters if you’re trying to get any work done, and the water pressure is consistently good — small things, but they add up.
Why Guests Love It
What keeps people coming back here is that perfect balance between hotel service and residential comfort. You get housekeeping and front desk support when you need it, but you also have the freedom to cook your own breakfast or just hang out in your space without feeling like you’re camping in a tiny box. The location consistently scores above 9 out of 10 with recent guests, and after spending time in the area, that makes complete sense. You’re close enough to walk to Condesa, you can easily grab an Uber to Polanco or Centro Histórico, but you also have this quieter residential vibe when you want to decompress. It’s the kind of place that works whether you’re here for three days or three weeks.

Daan from Netherlands – 6 May 2025 (9/10)
Very central and spacious, great for large families or longer stay.
Soha from United States – 5 May 2025 (8/10)
Spacious, clean, furnished with the necessities for short or longer stays, its proximity to all the nice pubs and good restaurants, and the safe neoghborhood
What could be improved: Lack of air-conditioning. The portable AC was not cooling well. The weather was good and chilly at night so we did not need it much, but one of us prefers the cooler room to sleep in. I didn’t mind it.Joe from United States – 4 May 2025 (8/10)

The location is perfect, amongst it all and walking distance to everything. Local restaurants and food vendors and also upmarket restaurants as well. Keyless entries to the property reception and your room makes everything very easy. The apartments are new and decorated beautifully, very spacious and are equipped with everything you need. They also accommodate for large groups with 3 bedroom 2 bathroom apartments. Ours had 4 super comfy queen beds in 2 bedrooms and an identical bathrooms each, loved that !
The staff go above and beyond to make you feel at home. Brian on night shift would chat to us when we returned from dinner and give us recommendations for site seeing etc.
What could be improved: Nothing.
