Departamento Zona Gamer Frente al Aeropuerto Overview
First Impressions
Honestly, when I first heard about Departamento Zona Gamer Frente al Aeropuerto, I wasn’t sure what to expect — the name alone tells you this isn’t your typical hotel. But you know what? Sometimes the most memorable stays come from places that dare to be different. This three-star property sits right across from Mexico City’s airport, and I mean literally right there on Boulevard Puerto Aéreo. It’s the kind of place that breaks the mold of what airport accommodations usually offer.
Location That Actually Works
Look, I’ve stayed near airports before, and usually it’s just about convenience before an early flight. But this spot in Mexico City‘s Venustiano Carranza neighborhood surprised me — couples are rating the location 9.2 out of 10, which honestly makes sense once you’re there. You’re close enough that you don’t feel isolated, but far enough from the chaos that you can actually relax. The fact that recent guests scored the location a solid 9.0 tells you something real about this place.
The Gaming Twist
Here’s where things get interesting — this isn’t just a place to crash before your flight. The “Zona Gamer” part isn’t just marketing speak; they’ve actually created spaces where you can unwind with some gaming after a long travel day. I mean, when was the last time you found that at an airport hotel? Each room feels more like a modern apartment than a traditional hotel setup, which gives you space to spread out and actually live a little.
Practical Perks
What really sold me was the free private parking — and I’m talking actual on-site spots, not some shuttle situation to a lot three blocks away. When you’re dealing with Mexico City traffic and trying to catch a flight, that kind of thoughtful planning is worth its weight in gold. The whole setup feels designed by people who actually travel and know what matters when you’re in transit. You won’t find yourself stressed about logistics here.
Why Guests Love It
After staying here, I get why this place has an 8 out of 10 rating. It’s not trying to be fancy or pretentious — it’s just solving real problems that travelers face. You get the airport proximity without the sterile airport hotel vibe, plus some unexpected entertainment options that actually make your layover or pre-flight stay enjoyable. The couples who rated this place so highly probably appreciated having a real space to relax together, not just a generic restaurant and lobby to sit in. That’s the kind of thoughtfulness that keeps guests coming back.
To book a hotel in Mexico during mariachi festivals, visitors plan early to blend rooftop fiestas with sunrise hot-air balloons over valleys.

This is the coolest place I’ve ever stayed at. The rooms and even bathrooms are all the same Mario theme. There’s nothing to hate about this place.

What could be improved: The table in the mainroom was a bit wobly.Jovino from United States – 13 February 2025 (8/10)
The apartment is super cool and fun. Nice showers, comfortable beds, and a TV to catch up on your favorite show. The host offers you water and an honor bar with sodas and beer (nice touch). Super easy walk to Terminal 1 (VERY IMPORTANT – If you are on Terminal 2, you must take the shuttle to Terminal 1 in order to walk to the apartment. Otherwise, your walk will be over an hour all around the airport)
What could be improved: Lots of traffic in front of the building and the noise can be heard from inside of the property. Bring ear plugs, and you will be just fine.Kerry from New Zealand – 13 January 2025 (8/10)
location was a walk away from terminal one (pathways were a little rough if dragging a suitcase ). Apartments were very 'Funky and cool', spacious with all amenities.
What could be improved: Next to motorway so a
little loud, but road quietens up at nightJesus from Canada – 27 November 2024 (8/10)
