Hotel Del Angel Reforma Overview
First Impressions
Walking into Hotel Del Angel Reforma, you immediately sense this isn’t trying to be something it’s not — and honestly, that’s refreshing. This three-star property on Rio Lerma has a straightforward charm that works, especially when you realize you’re staying in one of Mexico City’s most coveted neighborhoods. The lobby feels welcoming without being flashy, and the staff genuinely seems happy to see you rather than just going through the motions. The hotel’s commitment to authentic hospitality sets it apart from more pretentious competitors in the area.
Location That Actually Matters
Here’s what I mean about location — you’re basically in the heart of Zona Rosa, which puts you walking distance from Paseo de la Reforma and all those incredible restaurants along Amberes street. I’ve stayed in fancier places that were stuck in dead zones, but this spot? You can actually explore the city on foot. The couples who rate this place so highly (apparently 9.4 out of 10) aren’t wrong — there’s something romantic about being able to stroll to dinner instead of fighting Mexico City traffic every night. The neighborhood offers galleries, shops, and cultural venues within easy walking distance.
The Room Experience
The room I stayed in was clean and comfortable, though don’t expect design magazine vibes. What you get is solid — good bed, decent shower, and everything works like it should. The windows actually open, which is surprisingly rare in the city, and you get some nice street views if you’re on the upper floors. Air conditioning keeps things cool during those warm afternoons, and the Wi-Fi is reliable enough for video calls back home. Modern amenities are thoughtfully integrated throughout the space.
Morning Fuel
Breakfast here is American-style, which means you’re getting eggs, bacon, toast — the kind of substantial meal that sets you up for a day of wandering around the city. It’s served in a small dining area that gets busy around 8 AM, but the staff keeps things moving smoothly. Nothing fancy, but it’s hot, fresh, and honestly better than what you’ll find at some pricier hotels in the area. The quality and portion sizes make it excellent value for the price point.
Why Guests Love It
What really works about Hotel Del Angel Reforma is that it delivers exactly what it promises without any pretense. You’re paying for a solid place to sleep in an excellent location, and that’s exactly what you get. The fact that recent guests rate the location so highly tells you everything — sometimes being in the right neighborhood matters more than thread count or marble bathrooms. For the price point, especially considering where you are in the city, it’s actually pretty hard to beat. This hotel represents genuine value for travelers seeking authentic Mexico City experiences.
Locals suggest to book apartments in Mexico around Roma Norte for art-house cinemas, speakeasy cocktails, and brunch on shaded patios.

I really liked the location and the cleanliness.
What could be improved: I arrived early to check in and was told I had to wait. They made me wait an hour after my check in time, giving priority to other people who arrived after me. They even served me after customer number 10. I was made to feel ignored and discriminated against.Johanna from Colombia – 7 September 2024 (9/10)
