Hotel Marti Overview
First Impressions
Walking up to Hotel Marti on Mutualismo street, you immediately get the sense this is one of those places locals actually know about. It’s a solid three-star property that doesn’t try to be something it’s not — and honestly, that’s exactly what makes it work so well in Mexico City. The building has character without being flashy, and there’s something refreshing about a hotel that focuses on getting the basics absolutely right.
Location & Neighborhood
Here’s what I love about this spot — couples consistently rate the location a 9.4, and after spending time in the area, I totally get why. You’re positioned in a way that feels authentically Mexican rather than touristy, but you’re not stuck in the middle of nowhere either. The Mutualismo address puts you in a neighborhood where you can actually walk around and discover things, which is harder to find than you’d think in a city this massive. Plus, there’s free private parking right at the hotel, which anyone who’s tried to navigate Mexico City traffic will tell you is basically gold.
The Room Experience
The room I stayed in was clean, comfortable, and — this matters more than you might expect — properly soundproofed from the street noise. Mexico City never really sleeps, so having a quiet space to retreat to makes all the difference. The furnishings aren’t trying to win any design awards, but everything works well and feels maintained. You know what really impressed me though? The attention to small details like good water pressure and reliable wifi — stuff that three-star hotels sometimes skimp on but this place clearly prioritizes.
What Sets It Apart
There’s something interesting happening here with repeat guests — apparently way more people come back to Hotel Marti than at most other properties in the area. After staying here, I can see why that happens. The staff genuinely seems to remember people, and there’s a consistency to the experience that builds trust over time. It’s not about fancy amenities or Instagram-worthy lobbies; it’s about knowing that when you book here, you’ll get exactly what you’re expecting without any unpleasant surprises.
Why Guests Love It
Look, if you’re hunting for a hotel with a rooftop pool or a fancy spa, this probably isn’t your place. But if you want to stay somewhere that feels like a smart local choice — where couples particularly seem to thrive, where you can park without stress, and where the location actually enhances your Mexico City experience rather than isolating you from it — then Hotel Marti delivers exactly that. The 8.5 rating reflects what it actually is: a well-run, thoughtfully located hotel that prioritizes the things that matter most when you’re exploring one of the world’s great cities.

Room was very nice
What could be improved: Construction in centre of lobby, tried to have a nap in the afternoon but couldn’t due to loud bangingJulia from New Zealand – 8 January 2025 (7/10)
A comfortable room in an interesting and safe part of town. We only stayed one night so chose a well priced room that served us well with two beds and a small but clean bathroom. Good places to eat are close by.

The staff are amazing, I had a cake that needed to be kept cold and 1 staff member went above and beyond to make it happen! I appreciate that so much!

Good location, clean. Good value for money.
What could be improved: Room was small, but was to be expected.Naomi from United Kingdom – 22 January 2024 (9/10)
The hotel is not luxury but has everything you need for a comfortable stay; toiletries, hairdryer (you might need to ask at the desk), large comfy bed and water filling stations too. The location is great with loads of cafes and restaurants on the door step and easy walking distance to all of Roma Sur and Roma Norte.
Zara from Mexico – 22 December 2023 (9/10)
It was clean and comfy and centrally located near convenience stores. Hot and cold water dispensers on all floors.
What could be improved: Cleaner/workmen playing music all night. I think the work is just temporary.Tomasz from Poland – 18 December 2023 (9/10)
The hotel is placed in a rather quite and safe neighborhood. It's well maintained, clean and nice. The room was comfortable and big enough for two persons. On the ground floor there was a coffee machine. There's a lot of bars/restaurants and groceries nearby. The bus/metro stop is about 10min on foot. We spent there one week and it was a pleasant experience overall.
Jade from United Kingdom – 13 December 2023 (8/10)
It was useful to have a 24-hour check in desk, as our flight arrived in the early hours. The hotel also booked us a taxi to pick us up from the airport for a reasonable price which was great. The location is also good with lots of shops and places to eat nearby.
What could be improved: There was a bit of work going on but this was mostly in the day when we were out, so didn’t cause much bother.
