Reviews of The Wild Oscar

  • Claudia from Peru – 27 May 2025 (9/10)

    Big, clean and comfortable room.

What could be improved: Need better curtains… too much light at 6am

  • Catherine from United States – 17 May 2025 (9/10)

Beautiful boutique hotel. Small, very clean and comfortable, staff was extremely attentive and we felt very welcome. We had a room with a terrace. I loved spending each morning on the terrace with a coffee, reading the morning news before a beautiful day visiting Mexico City. The room also had blackout curtains and so it was very dark and comfortable at night (or in the afternoon when you need a nap after a tacos and tequila tour! 🙂 )
We didn’t eat at the hotel restaurant but did enjoy apero and cocktails, which were delicious.
It’s in a quiet and lovely neighborhood in Polanco, easy to walk places.
    Thanks for the hospitality!

  • Hamro from Italy – 1 May 2025 (8/10)

Good location and good breakfast. Restaurant staff was accomodati g and friendly.

What could be improved: My room had practically non natural light. That fact was disappointing. There was a window in the shower which did not illuminate the room and the small room window was to an inward very small courtyard. As we were on the 2nd floor it felt like we were in a silo. Not a great feeling and very dark.

  • Alan from United Kingdom – 14 April 2025 (8/10)

    Good:
    Location
    Staff
    Relaxed feel
    Rooftop sunshine
    Gym

Bad: plastic undersheets on the beds (yuk)

  • Rene from Netherlands – 28 March 2025 (8/10)

    Great location.
When you arrive there are stairs to get into building. No one to help you with luggage. Front desk asked someone to help and the man had attitude that he had to do it.
Hotel needs maintenance. It’s all a bit broken. They did fix some things when mentioned but it’s an all over problem. The sofa in the suite is very uncomfortable.
All staff was amazing front desk and restaurant. They make the place. Would come back for them alone.

  • Lynette from United States – 13 March 2025 (8/10)

Amazing staff and breakfast is worth the money!

What could be improved: The linens were in very poor shape. Our towels were very small with frayed edges and some had holes in them. The shower stall was extremely slippery as well.

  • Wen from United Kingdom – 11 March 2025 (9/10)

Service was great – the staff was super helpful, very attentive overall, and nothing was too much trouble. Breakfast offerings were delicious and the hours were great as well (730a-11a), this allowed for a lot of flexibility with our schedules. Room was clean and a good size. We asked for a quiet room (facing toward the back of the hotel) which they accommodated. Hotel offered unlimited filtered water refills as well which was great as this saved us having to load up on plastic water bottles during our stay.

What could be improved: Some of the first floor rooms are above the carpark entrance — this wasn't a problem during our stay as the hotel wasn't very crowded then, but noise could be an issue if the carpark was full.

  • Smith from United States – 27 February 2025 (9/10)

The breakfasts were great and the service was awesome. The location can’t be beat. We loved the cozy feeling about the hotel,

  • Phyllis from United States – 26 February 2025 (9/10)

Everything – it’s intimate yet open & every touch was perfect. From the playful yet consistent staff, honestly this gem of a property was in the most perfect neighborhood in Mexico City / it felt like having a family waiting for us when we arrived, yet also with the loveliest appointments – – not family where they’re cramming us in for a visit but where they welcomed us with open arms every morning; evening & throughout the day. The rooms were so pretty, they had every appointment possible, including what you expect, but we never took it granted that they had pure water daily, fresh towels, and linens, our Nespresso machine at Little tabs standing by for our morning coffee, the TV worked and was easy to use, and plenty of room to put our stuff. Staff never forgot about those things no took us for granted – because we were there for so long – that happens often in a hotel but not here. I looked forward to breakfast every morning and fueling myself for a long day of wandering around the city with my husband. The staff deserves major kudos, and the management, for sure, for the way they run their property. If I could live here long term, I would. I found my home in Mexico City and it’s in the hotel.

    What could be improved: Nothing.

  • Gerald from United States – 3 February 2025 (9/10)

    Great staff!

What could be improved: Room doesn’t have great lighting for women.
