VERACRUZ by MrW Overview
First Impressions
Walking up to VERACRUZ by MrW on Avenida Veracruz, you immediately get the sense that this isn’t your typical three-star hotel. The building has this clean, modern vibe that feels more boutique than budget — honestly, I was surprised by how polished everything looked. The entrance is understated but welcoming, and you can tell right away that someone put real thought into the design. It’s the kind of place where you think, “okay, this might actually be good.”
Location That Actually Matters
Here’s what I love about the location — you’re in Roma Norte, which is basically Mexico City’s coolest neighborhood without being touristy about it. You can walk to Parque México in about five minutes (perfect for morning runs, by the way), and the whole area is packed with incredible cafés and galleries that locals actually frequent. The couples who stay here aren’t wrong to rate the location a perfect 10 — there’s something romantic about strolling these tree-lined streets in the evening. Plus, you’re close enough to the main sights but far enough away that you feel like you’re experiencing the real city.
The Room Experience
My room was surprisingly spacious for what I paid, with floor-to-ceiling windows that actually open (you know how rare that is these days?). The design is minimalist but warm — think clean lines with pops of color that reference Mexican culture without being heavy-handed about it. The bed was genuinely comfortable, and I mean that — I’ve stayed in places twice the price with worse mattresses. What really impressed me was the attention to small details: good lighting for reading, plenty of outlets where you actually need them, and a bathroom that feels modern without being sterile.
Neighborhood Dining
While the hotel doesn’t have its own restaurant, honestly, you don’t need one when you’re surrounded by some of the city’s best food. There’s this incredible taco place literally around the corner that I stumbled onto my first night — the kind of spot where office workers line up at lunch. For coffee, head to Café Nin about three blocks away (trust me on this one). The staff at VERACRUZ actually gave me a little map with their favorite local spots marked, which felt like getting insider tips from friends rather than generic tourist recommendations.
Why Guests Love It
What sets this place apart is that it punches way above its weight class — you’re getting boutique hotel vibes at a fraction of the cost. The 9.3 rating makes total sense when you experience how smoothly everything runs and how genuinely helpful the staff is. They seem to actually care about your experience rather than just going through the motions. The location rating of 9.9 isn’t just about being central — it’s about being in a neighborhood that feels alive and authentic. You’ll end up walking more than you planned, but in the best possible way, discovering little corners of Roma Norte that you’d never find otherwise.
Apartments in Mexico suit digital nomads craving leafy courtyards, tamal vendors, and reliable fiber internet.

The building is very private and quite for the most of the time. Location is convenient. Lot's of restaurants and bars at walking distance.
What could be improved: The apartment lack a split AC to bring necesary comfort the the Bedroom. This time of year daytime temp reaches 85 degrees and it will not be cool enough at night, also if you leave windows wide open, you will be exposed to mostquitos.Alejandra from Mexico – 4 May 2025 (10/10)
