Cálida casa pet friendly, CDMX Overview
First Impressions
Walking up to Cálida casa pet friendly, CDMX on Minerva Street, you immediately get the sense this isn’t your typical hotel experience. It’s more like staying at a friend’s place — if that friend happened to have impeccable taste and genuinely cared about making you feel at home. The name says it all, really — “cálida” means warm in Spanish, and honestly, that’s exactly what this place delivers. Plus, if you’re traveling with your furry companion, you’ll appreciate that they’re not just tolerated here, they’re actually welcomed.
Location & Neighborhood
The Azcapotzalco location might surprise you — it’s not where most tourists end up, but that’s actually part of its charm. You’re in a real Mexico City neighborhood where locals go about their daily lives, yet you’re still well-connected to the main attractions. I mean, couples consistently rate this spot a 9.6, and there’s a reason for that. The area feels authentic without being overwhelming, and you’ll find yourself just a reasonable distance from the historic center and major sights. What really sold me on the location is how quiet it gets at night — something that’s genuinely hard to find in this massive city.
The Space
This three-star property punches well above its weight class. The room feels more like a cozy apartment than a standard hotel setup, with thoughtful touches that show someone actually lives and breathes hospitality. The space is clean and comfortable, but what I really appreciated were the little details — good lighting for reading, enough outlets for all your devices, and storage that actually makes sense. You know what’s refreshing? Everything works the way it should, from the hot water to the WiFi, without any of those annoying quirks you sometimes get at boutique places.
Practical Perks
Here’s where this place really shines for travelers — they’ve got free private parking right on site. If you’ve ever tried to park in Mexico City, you’ll understand why this is basically like finding gold. No circling blocks looking for a spot, no worrying about your car overnight, just pull up and you’re done. The hosts are incredibly responsive too, which matters when you’re in an unfamiliar city and need local recommendations or help with something unexpected.
Why Guests Love It
That 9.7 rating isn’t an accident — this place consistently delivers on the basics while adding those personal touches that make a trip memorable. The pet-friendly policy isn’t just a marketing line; they genuinely seem to enjoy having four-legged guests around. What strikes me most is how the owners have created something that feels both professional and personal. You get the reliability you want from a hotel with the warmth you’d hope for from a homestay. For the price point and location, it’s honestly hard to find fault with the experience they’re offering here.

The location is really good, it's walking distance from the camarones metro station. The building and the facilities are kind of big and you can use everything. The room is comfortable and the pillow are super good! We had great contact with the hosts, the provide a lot of information and the communication is excellent. Thank you for the stay!

Really beautiful house with several bedrooms and bathrooms – the rooftop room where we stayed had a private bathroom (not attached to the room) and the terrace which pretty much no one else used. Beto, the host, is a really lovely guy. Couldn’t have felt safer and more comfortable – we will be back :)! Xx

Our whole experience was fabulous. The owners were very responsive and live on the property. The kitchen had everything we needed. There's a comfortable lounge area to sit and watch movies (several services are provided). There's also an outdoor rooftop patio to sit and enjoy the weather and the stars. Our room was spacious, and the bed was comfortable. The shower had good water pressure and plenty of hot water. There was also a nice sized flat screen TV, a desk and chair, and a place to hang up clothes. There is a very large market, several grocery stores, and a fair number of restaurants nearby. The cleaning ladies keep the place spotless and are very kind. We would highly recommend staying here.
What could be improved: The rooms start after climbing two flights of steep stairs. The building is five stories tall (the owners live on the first two stories), and there are rooms on each of the top three stories. Walking up the stairs can be strenuous even without luggage. Having said that, we would still definitely stay again, but it is something to be aware of.René from South Africa – 12 February 2025 (10/10)
Excellent internet for digital nomads. Set up like a home away from home with beautiful decor. It is stocked up with everything you need to make your stay comfortable. It has a rooftop bar setting and a good place for your dog to roam and you to relax. Free laundromat a bonus! The hosts and staff were very friendly and accommodating.
What could be improved: Not a tourist area and limited slightly as a solo female traveller but nothing an Uber can’t fix. If you a traveling with heavy luggage be aware you will need to climb many stairs to access your room.Te from Australia – 7 February 2025 (10/10)

Cleanest property we’ve stayed in! It has beautiful shared spaces, the bedroom had a comfy bed and the shower was nice and hot. The laundry facilities were a much appreciated bonus. The location seemed safe with many restaurant options close by and about a 30 min drive to Centro. The property managers/owners Alberto and Tatiana are really lovely and helpful people! Check-in was simple too. Highly recommended!
Ashlyn from United States – 11 April 2024 (10/10)
I liked that there was a good security system with the front door and each rooms door including the restrooms. The property is beautiful and clean and has a very attentive host who makes you feel welcomed and comfortable. I loved that the property had a lot of amenities that were all accessible. The location is not to far from the attractions.
Hugo from Mexico – 8 April 2024 (10/10)
Real home like. Host very attentive
What could be improved: Not much as didn't like but there is stairs but that is the way Mexico City homes are everything goes up.
