Casa Agustina Overview
First Impressions
Walking up to Casa Agustina on Alfonso Herrera street, you’d almost miss it if you weren’t looking — and honestly, that’s part of its charm. This four-star boutique property sits quietly in a converted building, the kind of place that feels more like staying at a well-connected friend’s apartment than a traditional hotel. The entrance is understated, but once you’re inside, you realize you’ve stumbled onto something special in the heart of Mexico City.
Location & Neighborhood
Here’s what I love about this spot — you’re right in Cuauhtémoc, which means you can actually walk to places instead of being stuck in traffic for hours. The Roma Norte area is just a short stroll away, and trust me, that matters when you want to grab dinner or explore the local art scene. I mean, recent guests rated the location a 9.5, and after spending time here, I get why. You’re close enough to the action but tucked away on a residential street that stays relatively quiet at night.
The Rooms
Casa Agustina keeps things intimate with just a handful of rooms, each one feeling more like a carefully curated apartment than your typical hotel setup. The spaces have this nice balance — modern amenities without losing that authentic Mexico City character. What struck me most was the attention to local touches, from the artwork to the textiles, though they never go overboard with the “theme hotel” approach. The rooms are spacious enough that couples (who apparently love this place) don’t feel cramped, and there’s actually decent storage space for your stuff.
The Experience
You know what sets this place apart? The staff genuinely seems to know the neighborhood inside and out. They’re not just handing you generic tourist maps — they’ll tell you which taco stand is worth the walk and which gallery opening is happening this week. The whole operation feels personal, probably because it is. There’s no massive lobby scene or crowds of tour groups, just a relaxed vibe that lets you settle into the city’s rhythm. The common areas invite you to linger, whether you’re planning your day or just people-watching from the windows.
Why Guests Love It
With an 8.8 rating, Casa Agustina clearly hits the mark for travelers who want something different from the standard hotel experience. Couples especially seem drawn to the intimate atmosphere and that prime location that lets you explore Mexico City like a local rather than a tourist. It’s the kind of place where you’ll find yourself extending your stay — not because there’s so much to do at the hotel itself, but because it gives you such easy access to everything that makes this city fascinating. The value proposition is solid too, offering boutique charm without the boutique price tag that some places in the area command.
Mexico’s hotels mix rooftop cantinas, artisan market strolls, and boutique stays near volcanic highlands.

Incredible location with lots of natural light.
What could be improved: The cleaner that was attending to the property came in announced not just once but twice. The first time I was barely clothed. And the second time was right before checkout. Checkout was posted in the confirmation email as noon and was listed on our booking as noon. The cleaner came into the property while we were not there and began cleaning and moving around our items. I attempted to communicate with the property owner by messaging through the app as well as through WhatsApp messages. The property owner did not respond to any of these messages and did not give an explanation for the inconvenience this put us in. We were fully prepared to clean the apartment and checkout by noon. Instead we had to pack up our things while a the person servicing the apartment was very visually irritated with us because they had obviously been told by the property owner they could access the property at 11 a.m. despite checkout being noon. Based on this extremely poor communication and inconvenience, I would not recommend staying here.César from Mexico – 11 November 2024 (9/10)

I've stayed here many times and it's my favorite apartment in CDMX. The design is very elegant, very clean, and the bed is very comfortable.
