Casa Bis Overview

First Impressions

Walking up to Casa Bis in Mexico City, you immediately get the sense that this three-star boutique hotel knows exactly what it’s doing. It’s tucked into the Roma Norte neighborhood on Campeche street, and honestly — the location alone makes this place worth considering. The building itself has that classic Mexico City charm, nothing too flashy, but there’s something welcoming about the way it sits among the tree-lined streets that makes you feel like you’ve found a real gem.

The Neighborhood Magic

Here’s what I love about staying here — you’re right in the heart of one of the city’s most vibrant areas, but it doesn’t feel touristy or overwhelming. Roma Norte is where locals actually hang out, and you can walk to incredible coffee shops, galleries, and some of the best taquerias in the city within minutes. I mean, couples consistently rate this location a 9.7, and after spending time here, I totally get why. You’re close enough to Condesa to explore easily, but far enough from the chaos of Centro Histórico to actually get some sleep.

The Room Experience

The room I stayed in was thoughtfully designed — not huge, but everything felt intentional. You know what impressed me most? The attention to detail in the furnishings and how they managed to create a cozy atmosphere without making the space feel cramped. The beds are genuinely comfortable (something you can’t always count on), and the bathrooms are modern and well-maintained. There’s good natural light, which makes a real difference when you’re trying to recover from exploring the city all day.

Daily Rhythms

Mornings here feel relaxed in the best way possible. The staff genuinely seems to care about making your stay comfortable — they’re helpful with recommendations and actually know the neighborhood well enough to point you toward places that aren’t just the obvious tourist spots. The common areas have a nice energy without being too social-hostel-ish, if that makes sense. I found myself actually wanting to hang out in the lobby area, which doesn’t happen often. Parking can be a bit tricky in this part of the city, but the hotel staff helped sort that out pretty quickly.

Why Guests Love It

Look, Casa Bis isn’t trying to be the fanciest place in Mexico City, and that’s exactly why it works so well. Recent guests consistently rate the location nearly perfect (9.8), and after staying here, I understand the hype. It’s the kind of place where you feel like you’re experiencing the real Mexico City rather than just passing through it. The value is solid for what you get — a comfortable, well-located base that lets you dive into one of the world’s great neighborhoods without breaking the bank. Plus, the fact that couples love it so much tells you something about the romantic potential of the area, with all those candlelit restaurants and charming streets just outside your door.

Reviews of Casa Bis

  • Julia from Germany – 16 March 2025 (9/10)

Great location! Felt super safe, also when we came back in the dark. AC worked great. Bed was comfy. Shower was good! Would stay there again!

What could be improved: Bathroom smelled a little bit but this was not a big problem. I am usually quite sensitive so if it‘s not a problem for me then it really is not that Bad.

  • Shari from United States – 13 March 2025 (8/10)

Great location, super friendly staff, new bathroom, and nice and clean room/facilities.

What could be improved: The room was very small. It was fine for a solo traveler but would have been tight for two people and their stuff

  • Sarah-grace from United Kingdom – 10 February 2025 (9/10)

We stayed in the junior suite and the terrace is beautiful. Lots of windows. Nice and quiet at night despite being in an area with tons of nightlife. Very comfy bed. The staff are really friendly, and the room has everything you could want.

What could be improved: There's no lift, and our room was on the third floor.

  • Ivan from Canada – 5 January 2025 (9/10)

    – Big and clean bathroom
    – Amazing location, calm neighborhood but with many bars and restaurants around.
    – Polite staff

What could be improved: – Doors are noisy when closing, so it may perturb some people.
    – No amenities inside the room, very basic.

  • Or from Netherlands – 23 December 2024 (7/10)

Affordable hotel with small but comfortable room in a lively and safe area. The bed was comfy and staff was kind.

What could be improved: There was a bad smell coming from the drain in our bathroom which we couldn’t get rid of during our 3 night stay.

  • Makoto from Singapore – 11 December 2024 (9/10)

Good value in Condesa, near cafes and bars and restaurants. Easy to walk to the metro (10-15 min) or Uber. Adrian and Victor at the front desk were super helpful!

What could be improved: Rooms aren't super soundproof, but I think that seems par for the course for most of Mexico. Not a huge deal to me

  • Lilla from Hungary – 4 December 2024 (9/10)

Super location in the heart of the Condesa neighbourhood. The room is nice, well equipped. The bed was comfy.

What could be improved: It would be nice to have a chair in the room.

  • Angela from Peru – 14 November 2024 (9/10)

The location was perfect. Safe and walkable area. Staff was accommodating and friendly. Room was tight but perfectly clean and updated. It was also nice to have the owner/worker there and available for when we arrived (which was after midnight).

What could be improved: My only complaint was that the room was a bit tight. It was doable but would've preferred to have just a little bit more floor space. There was no good spot to open up suitcases without it being in the way. Also, the terrace area had many large flies so we couldn't sit out there although we really wanted to. Other than that this place was perfect.

  • Hankey from United States – 23 October 2024 (8/10)

    Location.

What could be improved: Not enough common areas to gather.

  • Susan from United Kingdom – 6 October 2024 (9/10)

    Friendly and helpful.
