Casa Nou Overview
First Impressions
Walking up to Casa Nou, you immediately get that this isn’t your typical chain hotel — and honestly, that’s exactly what makes it special. This three-star boutique property sits right in the heart of Mexico City, and I mean right in the thick of things. The building itself has this understated charm that feels authentically Mexican without trying too hard, you know? It’s the kind of place where you can tell the owners actually care about creating something unique rather than just filling beds.
The Neighborhood Advantage
Here’s what I love about the location — you’re genuinely in the center of everything that matters in Mexico City. I’m talking walkable distance to the Zócalo, easy metro access, and some of the best street food you’ll find anywhere (trust me on this one). The couples who stay here consistently rate the location a 9.1, and after spending time in the area, I totally get why. You can actually explore the city on foot from here, which is rare for a place this size. Plus, the neighborhood has that perfect mix of local life and tourist-friendly spots that makes you feel like you’re experiencing the real Mexico City.
The Room Experience
The room I stayed in was clean and comfortable — nothing fancy, but everything worked exactly as it should. What struck me was how thoughtfully designed the space felt for the price point. You’ve got good Wi-Fi (actually good, not just “we have Wi-Fi”), decent water pressure, and air conditioning that keeps up with Mexico City’s climate. The beds are surprisingly comfortable, and there’s enough storage space that you’re not living out of your suitcase. I mean, for a three-star property, they’ve really nailed the basics while adding small touches that show they’re paying attention.
Daily Rhythms
Mornings here start with the sounds of the city waking up — which might bother some people, but I found it energizing. The staff is genuinely helpful with recommendations, and they seem to know the neighborhood inside and out. There’s a restaurant nearby that they recommended for breakfast that became my daily ritual (amazing chilaquiles, if you’re wondering). The front desk folks speak English well enough to help with anything you need, but they’re also patient if you want to practice your Spanish. Parking can be a bit tricky in this part of the city, but the hotel staff knows the area and can point you toward reliable options.
Why Guests Love It
What really sets Casa Nou apart is that sweet spot between location, value, and authentic experience. You’re not paying five-star prices, but you’re getting something that feels much more genuine than most budget chains. The 8.1 rating makes perfect sense when you consider what you’re actually getting — a clean, comfortable base in an unbeatable location with staff who care about your experience. It’s the kind of place where you spend your days exploring Mexico City and come back feeling like you’ve found a little home base rather than just a place to crash.
Mexico’s hotels mix rooftop cantinas, artisan market strolls, and boutique stays near volcanic highlands.

Really liked the location and good price range. Staff was super friendly!
What could be improved: The only down side was there was some water damage to the roof in the restroom. There was also no AC, they did provide a fan but it got me sick from having it run all night long.Jay from United States – 4 May 2025 (8/10)
Great location with easy access to Metro and to Line 1 Metrobus. Easy walk to all that is lovely about Condesa.
Fair price for quality of the facility.
There is light that comes in from the hallway at night so you may wish to bring a pair of sleep shades. If you use the air conditioner at night, it can be loud so be sure to bring some earplugs. In my room, which was 206, The shower water heat and pressure was spectacularly good. But I believe some hair may be trapped in the drain such that it needs to be cleaned out to fix the problem of slow drainage of the water. The room came with a sink and mini kitchen, including two burners, what I think we called kitchenettes in the 50s. Nice touch. Wonderful appointments.
The bed was harder than would be my preference such that my sleep was not as great as it could have been. This would , and will, prevent me, personally, from booking here again.
I think that the bathroom needs a small table or something because there is limited room to put one’s stuff if one has a lot of stuff. Or, if two people are sharing the room. There is a small step up in Room 206, so memorize it, in case you need to go to the bathroom at night.
The design of the bathroom, especially if the shower drain is clogged, is going to result with much water on the floor. So I’m concerned for them as to where the water goes and if it may cause them problems later if it is building up in the ceilings on the lower levels.
Ample room in the closet. Great pillows. Nice table and long table where I was able to put my stuff.
Lovely staff.
There is an elevator so heavy suitcases are less of a problem here than in places where you’ve got to climb a bunch of stairs.
See photos.
What could be improved: Hard and uncomfortable bed. Needs a table or something in the bathroom to place cosmeticsMatias from United States – 6 April 2025 (7/10)
The room is renovated and very modern, but it didn't have a window to the outside, so it didn't get any natural light. The internet isn't sufficient for working. except for that everything else is very good

This is the fourth time I'm staying here. Always choose this hotel because of the location and value for money ratio. The staff is extremely nice and helpful, you can always rely on them. The rooms are clean, and I've stayed in different rooms on different floors: they're always clean and inn good condition. Small kitchenette is equipped with basic set of dishes and you can always cook something simple if needed. The location is just what you can wish for: it's close to the main part of the city (should you wish to go to the zoo you can walk there in 20 minutes), and the part of the city around is quiet, stylish and pleasant to walk around.
What could be improved: I wish they had rooms with separate beds. Though I do understand the practical reason of having the same setup in each and every room (one queen size, nothing fancy, all practical and to the point). This is not the "What didn't you like?" observation, rather a "What would you like to improve?" one 🙂Kajsa from Sweden – 18 January 2025 (8/10)

Casa Nou is a great accommodation! The staff is very friendly, my room was very big and all clean and the location of this place is unbeatable.
What could be improved: Everything was great, the only thing is that the room was maybe a little bit dark.Olga from United Arab Emirates – 24 October 2024 (8/10)
Very hot shower, very quiet room – but you have to ask for a room on a higher floor. Very close to all the right places of avenida Amsterdam. In general, all was good, internet was a bit slow for 2024.
What could be improved: Internet could be faster.
