Chicago Suites WTC Overview

First Impressions

Walking into Chicago Suites WTC, you immediately get that “this is actually someone’s home” feeling — which makes sense, since you’re basically staying in a residential tower in one of Mexico City’s most sought-after neighborhoods. The building itself is modern and well-maintained, and honestly, the elevator ride to the 10th floor gives you a pretty decent preview of the city sprawling out below. It’s not flashy or over-designed, but there’s something refreshingly authentic about the whole setup that I really appreciated.

The Apartment Experience

The apartment feels more like borrowing a friend’s place than staying in a typical hotel room. You’ve got a full kitchen with everything you actually need (not just a mini-fridge and hope), which honestly saved me a fortune on meals. The living area is spacious enough that you don’t feel cramped, and the bedroom setup works well whether you’re traveling solo or as a couple. The Wi-Fi is solid — I mean, I was working from there for a few days without any issues, so that’s always a good sign.

Location Perks

Here’s what I love about this spot — you’re in a real neighborhood, not some touristy bubble. The World Trade Center is right there (hence the name), but you’re also walking distance to some genuinely good local spots that most visitors never find. There’s a restaurant called Pujol about ten minutes away that’s absolutely worth the splurge, and the whole Polanco area is just a quick Uber ride if you want to do some serious shopping or hit the museums. The parking situation is actually handled really well too, which anyone who’s driven in Mexico City will tell you is no small feat.

Practical Considerations

Look, this is a three-star place, so don’t expect room service or a concierge desk — but that’s kind of the point. You get the independence of having your own space without paying resort prices. The building has good security, which matters more than you might think, and the management is responsive when you need something. I had an issue with the air conditioning on my second day, and they had someone up there within an hour. The neighborhood itself feels safe for walking around, even in the evenings, though you know what — use common sense like you would in any big city.

Why Guests Love It

Couples seem to really get what this place is about — there’s something nice about having actual space to spread out and cook breakfast together instead of rushing down to a hotel dining room. The location consistently gets high marks because you’re genuinely well-positioned for both business and leisure stuff. You can walk to meetings in the financial district, then come back and explore the local scene without feeling like you’re staying in some isolated hotel corridor. It’s that sweet spot where you feel like you’re actually experiencing the city rather than just visiting it.

Reviews of Chicago Suites WTC

  • Carolina from Mexico – 13 May 2024 (8/10)

La ubicación y seguridad de la zona

What could be improved: No tiene clima, era muy difícil dormir, hay chicas que van a limpiar y te van a tocar que les pases la toallas y sábanas porque las van a lavar, le cerramos con llave porque teníamos cosas de valor y aún así entraron al cuarto para limpiar.

  • Francis from Mexico – 9 April 2024 (6/10)

Room is spacious and has a great view of the city. They provide a ventilator for the heat. Apartment comes fully equipped. Great location.

What could be improved: There was a lot of street noise until 5:30AM (this was on a Friday) which made it hard to sleep.
It wasn't clear for me that this is a SHARED apartment.

  • Monita from Mexico – 20 March 2024 (6/10)

  • Jesus from Mexico – 12 February 2024 (8/10)

    Tiene bonitos jardines

What could be improved: No es hotel te rentan un departamento pero entras por la entrada de servicio del edificio

What could be improved: Shared spaces

  • Guamazos from Mexico – 5 September 2022 (4/10)

    Location

What could be improved: Sharing bathroom & Kitchen with Roomies

  • Gabriela from Mexico – 8 August 2022 (6/10)

    Breakfast was not included.

What could be improved: She could clarify that it is not a hotel. Nowhere in the reservation process does it states that is an apartment and what its been booked is a room in a shared apartment. I should have read the reviews where people share the same opinion. This is some sort of scam because you book a room in a "Hotel" when you show up, security personnel tells you that the hotel you thought you book with doesn't exist and that what you booked is an apartment room. We had not choice but to stay.
