Each apartment feels like borrowing a friend’s place for the week, complete with a proper kitchen that actually has everything you need. The spaces are clean and functional, nothing fancy, but honestly that’s part of the charm. You’ve got real plates, actual cooking utensils, and enough counter space to spread out your groceries from the local markets.

This is where Departamentos Pánuco really shines, and the numbers back it up — couples rate the location a solid 9.6, which makes total sense once you’re here. You’re in Cuauhtémoc, which puts you walking distance from Roma Norte’s trendy cafes and Condesa’s parks, but without the tourist crowds right outside your door. The Metrobús stops are close enough that you can zip around the city easily, but far enough that you’re not dealing with constant noise. I actually discovered some of my favorite local taquerías just by wandering the neighborhood in the evenings.

What I love about staying here is how quickly it feels normal. There’s no fancy lobby to navigate or formal restaurant with set hours — you just come and go as you please. The building has that quiet, residential vibe where you might nod to neighbors in the hallway. Parking can be found on the street, though like anywhere in Mexico City, you’ll want to plan ahead during busy times. The whole setup encourages you to shop at local markets, cook simple meals, and actually experience the rhythm of the neighborhood rather than just checking off tourist sites.

Why Guests Love It

Look, if you’re expecting room service and a concierge, this isn’t your place. But if you want to feel like you actually live in Mexico City for a few days — if you want to buy fresh tortillas from the corner shop and make your own breakfast while planning your day — then Departamentos Pánuco hits that sweet spot perfectly. The 9.3 rating reflects what I experienced: it’s simple, it’s authentic, and it’s in exactly the right spot to make Mexico City feel manageable and welcoming. Plus, honestly, having your own space to decompress after long days exploring this massive city? That’s worth more than any hotel amenity.

  Each apartment is a work of art. Lovingly cared for! It is very comfy, and feels like home. The location is great! Very walkable, restaurants and small shops galore. Not super far to walk to nice parks.
  
  What could be improved: Well it's next to a freeway, so if you expect absolute silence you will be disappointed. It doesn't bother me. And i bring earplugs to sleep. Could refresh the pots.

  Location is near the Mexico City park where there are a lot of must see museums and fun neighborhoods, Roma Norte (15 min walk). Note that the apartment is a bit far from the historical center and you would need to bike or uber there.
  
  What could be improved: This is an apartment and not a hotel. You will get a taste of living like a local since you are entrenched in local culture. There will be some noise in the streets, but that is the cost of immersion. Also note that there is no elevator nor AC. Internet can be quick/slow depending on time of day.

  Very nice, spacious and homely apartment.
  Personally though not a fan of the location, bit too touristy but it is centrally located if you want to visit places like Reforma and Polanco.
