Walking into Distrito on Juan Salvador Agraz, you immediately sense this isn’t your typical Mexico City hotel. The four-star property sits in Santa Fe’s business district, and honestly, the sleek lobby feels more like a boutique hotel than what you’d expect from the area. There’s something refreshingly understated about the design — modern without trying too hard, you know? The staff greets you in both Spanish and English, which I appreciated since my Spanish is… well, let’s just say it needs work.

Here’s what I didn’t expect about staying in this part of Mexico City — it’s actually pretty convenient for getting around. Santa Fe gets a bad rap for being all corporate towers and shopping malls, but you’re surprisingly well-connected to the rest of the city. The Observatorio metro isn’t too far, and honestly, the Uber rides to Roma Norte or Condesa are reasonable. Plus, if you need to do any shopping, Centro Santa Fe is right there (though I mean, you didn’t come to Mexico City to visit a mall, right?).

Room Experience

My room was on the eighth floor, and the view actually surprised me — you get these glimpses of the surrounding hills between the office buildings. The space itself is well-designed, with a work desk that’s actually usable (not one of those tiny things hotels sometimes pass off as desks). The bed was comfortable, and the bathroom had good water pressure, which honestly matters more than you think after walking around the city all day. There’s also decent soundproofing, which you’ll appreciate since Santa Fe can get busy during rush hour.

Dining and Amenities

The hotel’s restaurant serves a mix of Mexican and international dishes — nothing groundbreaking, but solid food that hits the spot. I had breakfast there a couple times, and the chilaquiles were actually pretty good (though not quite as amazing as what you’ll find in the historic center). What I really liked was the fitness center, which stays open late and has decent equipment. After spending days walking through Coyoacán or climbing the Templo Mayor, it felt good to stretch out properly.
