Hotel Oslo Overview
First Impressions
Walking up to Hotel Oslo on Eje Central Lázaro Cárdenas, you might wonder about the Nordic name in the heart of Mexico City — but honestly, it works. This three-star property has this understated charm that grows on you, especially once you realize how perfectly positioned it is in the city. The building itself isn’t flashy, but there’s something refreshingly straightforward about it that I actually appreciated after seeing so many over-the-top hotel lobbies.
The Location Sweet Spot
Here’s what I love about this spot — you’re right on one of the main arteries, but somehow it doesn’t feel chaotic. The hotel sits in this interesting pocket where you can walk to serious attractions without dealing with the tourist crush of Zona Rosa or the intensity of Centro Histórico. I mean, couples are rating the location 8.6 out of 10, and after spending a few days here, I get why. You’ve got easy access to metro lines, decent restaurants within walking distance, and — this is key — you can actually get around the city without spending half your day in traffic.
The Room Experience
The room I stayed in was clean and functional, which sounds boring but honestly felt like a relief. No weird design choices or cramped layouts — just a well-thought-out space where everything actually works. The bed was comfortable enough that I didn’t wake up with that hotel-bed backache, and the bathroom had proper water pressure (you know how hit-or-miss that can be in Mexico City). The windows face the street, so there’s some noise, but nothing that decent earplugs can’t handle.
Practical Perks
What really sold me on this place was the free parking — and I cannot stress enough how huge this is in Mexico City. Finding secure parking in this part of town usually costs a fortune and involves sketchy lots, so having it right at the hotel is honestly a game-changer if you’re driving. The staff seemed genuinely helpful too, not just going through the motions. When I needed directions to a specific market, the front desk guy actually drew me a little map showing which streets to avoid during rush hour.
Why Guests Love It
This isn’t the kind of place you’ll Instagram every corner of, but it’s exactly what you want when you’re actually trying to experience Mexico City rather than just stay in a hotel bubble. The recent guest rating of 8.4 for location makes total sense once you start exploring the neighborhood — you’re close enough to everything that matters without paying premium prices for being right in the thick of it. It’s the kind of spot where you check in, drop your bags, and then actually go out and explore the city, which is sort of the whole point, isn’t it?

Reviews of Hotel Oslo
Victor from Mexico – 16 August 2024 (9/10)
Great place to stay at, spacious rooms and very good location to travel to the downtown. There were some issues with an outlet and a remote but they were resolved.
What could be improved: Breakfast requires a voucher to trade in, and you must remember to ask for it every day. I forgot to do so most of my stay!Tapia from Mexico – 14 October 2023 (6/10)
kind reception
What could be improved: I rented a room called king suite for 1070 through the app, when I arrived, there was no room with that name, and they gave me one of the worst rooms they had, then I checked the price for that room and wasn't what I had paid for it was worth around 400 pesos less, so I went to talk to reception and they couldn't solve anything, we ended up having to pay more to get a decent roomMarco from Mexico – 3 August 2023 (8/10)
Loved the room. It was very clean, cool, and quiet. It had all we needed for a restful night. Having breakfast included was a special treat. The waiter was very kind and accommodating. Oh, and the shower! Great pressure and hot!
What could be improved: Another option for breakfast would be ideal. It wasn't bad but being able to choose between eggs or pancakes would be good. Also, some sweet Mexican bread would be a treat!Dulce from Mexico – 29 May 2023 (8/10)
The breakfast, clean in the bedroon
What could be improved: I paid for a bedroom with tub and we were accommodated in one with simple watering can.Kai from Germany – 28 February 2023 (8/10)
Very clean hotel…
Close to the Metro…
What could be improved: To much noise from the Motorola in the corridor, specially during the night and starting 6 a.m.
There is no signed for hot and cold water handles…Sebastian from Austria – 26 December 2022 (6/10)
Its Okey. Silent. Good price.
What could be improved: It is a Motel, not a Hotel. But a good motel. Which all side effects.Christel from Belgium – 28 November 2022 (7/10)
Good location, not very far from a good Metro and big supermarket.
What could be improved: The staff was very unfriendly and not helpful. They do not speak any English at all.
A lot of noise from the street. When you open the window to refresh the room (no airco and very warm) you can not talk to each other anymore.Javier from United States – 4 October 2022 (7/10)
location was exceptional,
What could be improved: I noticed that this hotel is mostly for one hot-loca-night, I did not see many travelers or business people coming or go, on my opinion, was horrible to see next to my bed board a picture of sexual positions and also sales of alcohol and botanas like a regular mexican cantina. Shower was unsafe very slipper tile when you take a shower and felt invasion to my privacy with the hole wall smoky mirror next to the bed. I though was a closet. I will not recommended this hotel unless there are not other options close by.Kasdaug from Denmark – 18 September 2022 (4/10)
Large room with a big bed. Good and large shower. Large TV and furniture in the room.
What could be improved: The personel was kind of rude – as i struggled with communicating with them (they only speak spanish, i only speak broken Spanish), they were more busy laughing at me than being understanding and helpful.
It states that aircondition is in the room under facilities – there were no such thing in the room. No fridge, coffee machine or similar either.
The clientele consists much of older men with younger women. The walls are quite thin, so you can hear any activities that might occur.
The area is okay as it is located out to a large road, so taxi/app pickups are quite fast and easy. Nothing interesting nearby, just on the outskirts of a dangerous neighborhood.Andrew from United States – 20 August 2022 (9/10)
Excellent service from the staff and great breakfast. The bed was extremely comfortable.
What could be improved: The surrounding neighborhood was not safe.
