  The employees are wonderful, no problems with the hotel. My particular room was quite basic, but the king size bed was comfortable. Some of the pillows were quite lumpy. My room was on the road side, so it was extremely noisy so I would definitely request a room off the road if you are a light sleeper.

  Although this is an older and dated hotel, it’s nice and we enjoyed our stay. The location is superb. Our room was very clean. The bed linens are nice quality. We had several meals in the restaurant and the food was good. I ordered room service one evening and was told my meal would arrive in 30 minutes. It actually arrived in less than 15 minutes. I ordered a Cesar salad & French fries. It was delicious (see photos). The food service and housekeeping staff are wonderful. Internet was fast.
  
  What could be improved: If you are seriously planning on booking a stay at Hotel Roosevelt, ask about renovation progress (writing this February 2025). We were unaware of construction going on on the 4th floor. Machinery started around 8:30 AM. If you’re an early riser, this shouldn’t be a problem but if you want to sleep in, forget it. Our room was located on the 2nd floor and it sounded like construction was happening directly above us although it was on the 4th floor. As other reviewers mentioned, there is quite a bit of street noise, loud vehicles, sirens etc. We felt the location overrode the noise and the hotel did provide ear plugs. The staff was exceptional except at the front desk. The woman there when we checked in was not welcoming at all. It was like we were an intrusion in her life/job. We brushed it off because other reviewers mentioned how accommodating and helpful the staff was. This was true, thank goodness. The bathrooms offer very barebones supplies. You receive a bath towel, bath mat & hand towel (bring your own washcloth). You get a small shampoo, small bar of soap and small bottle of lotion. Bring your own hairdryer and hair conditioner. The shower was spacious and the water pressure was decent.

  The location is excellent, right near the Amsterdam Avenue – lush green space with beautiful buildings. Next to a bus stop, has 2 pharmacies nearby as well as Orinico Tacos. The rooms were comfortable and the staff was polite.
