Mariano Escobedo Apartments by VH Overview
First Impressions
Walking up to Mariano Escobedo Apartments by VH, you immediately get the sense that this is one of those places locals actually know about. It’s tucked along Calzada General Mariano Escobedo — honestly, one of Mexico City’s better-kept secrets for staying somewhere that feels authentically connected to the city. The building has that solid, unpretentious vibe that tells you the focus here is on substance over flash, which I actually appreciate in a three-star property.
Location That Actually Matters
You know what’s refreshing? When a hotel’s location rating of 8.8 actually makes sense once you’re there. This stretch of Mariano Escobedo puts you in this sweet spot where you’re close enough to Polanco’s upscale dining scene but far enough away that you’re not paying Polanco prices for everything. I mean, you can walk to some seriously good taquerias that tourists never find, and the metro connections here — well, they’ll get you anywhere you need to go without the hassle of navigating from some random corner of the city.
The Apartment Experience
Each apartment here feels like someone actually thought about how people live, not just where they sleep for a night. The kitchen setup is practical enough that you can handle real meals if you want to — and trust me, with Mexico City’s incredible markets nearby, you’ll want to try cooking with some local ingredients. The room layouts make sense too, with enough space that you’re not constantly bumping into your luggage or each other. Storage solutions are thoughtfully integrated throughout.
What Sets It Apart
There’s something to be said for a place that doesn’t try to be everything to everyone. The staff here seems to genuinely know the neighborhood — they’ll point you toward that little restaurant around the corner that doesn’t look like much but serves some of the best cochinita pibil you’ll find outside the Yucatan. The building itself is well-maintained without being flashy, and honestly, the parking situation is way better than most places in this part of the city, which matters more than you’d think if you’re dealing with a rental car. The attention to detail extends to every corner of the property.
Why Guests Love It
That 8.5 rating starts making sense when you realize this place just works without any drama. Couples especially seem to get it — there’s something about having your own space in a city this vibrant that lets you experience Mexico City at your own pace. You’re not stuck in some tourist bubble, but you’re also not thrown to the wolves in a neighborhood where nothing makes sense. It’s that middle ground that’s actually pretty hard to find, where you feel like you’re living in the city for a few days rather than just visiting it. This property delivers genuine value and authentic local experience.
Mexico’s apartments welcome families with rooftop gardens, bilingual childcare, and quick access to interactive museums.

Clean , comfortable and very convenient to grocery store (literally just a few steps away). Helpful staff.
What could be improved: A bit noisy at timesIsabel from United States – 24 January 2024 (9/10)
Comfortable space, really comfy pillows and bed. Lovely bathroom and kitchen spaces. Overall I felt safe here as a solo female traveler.
What could be improved: I wasn’t a huge fan of the electronic lock, but they had keys as a backup. It was generally very loud but that’s kind of how it is all over Mexico City, make sure to pack earbuds if you need quiet to sleep. Didn’t like the location but it was close to the exhibition space my classmates and I were working in so the walking distance to there made up for that.
