Singular Reforma Overview
First Impressions
Walking into Singular Reforma, you immediately get that “this place knows what it’s doing” vibe. It’s not trying to be flashy or over-the-top — honestly, that’s what I liked about it right away. The lobby has this clean, modern feel without being sterile, and the staff actually seems happy to see you rather than just going through the motions. For a three-star hotel in Mexico City, they’ve really nailed that sweet spot between comfortable and professional.
Location That Actually Matters
Here’s the thing about staying on Tokio Street — you’re basically in the heart of everything without the chaos that comes with some of the busier areas. I mean, you can walk to Zona Rosa in about ten minutes, and the Reforma avenue is right there when you need to get anywhere else in the city. What really surprised me was how quiet it gets at night, considering you’re so central. The couples who stay here aren’t wrong when they rave about the location — there’s something really nice about being able to explore during the day and then retreat to this calmer pocket in the evening.
The Room Experience
My room was… well, exactly what you’d hope for without any unpleasant surprises. Clean lines, decent space (which isn’t always a given in Mexico City), and a bed that actually let me sleep properly. The bathroom was modern and functional — nothing fancy, but everything worked the way it should. You know what I appreciated? The windows actually opened, and there was enough natural light that I didn’t feel like I was in a cave during the day.
Daily Rhythms
The restaurant downstairs serves solid Mexican and international options — nothing that’ll blow your mind, but definitely reliable when you don’t feel like venturing out. I actually ended up eating there more than I expected because the portions were generous and the prices made sense. The coffee was surprisingly good too, which matters more than people realize when you’re dealing with Mexico City’s altitude and trying to get your day started. Parking is available if you’re brave enough to drive in this city, though honestly, you probably won’t need a car given where you’ll be.
Why Guests Love It
Look, Singular Reforma isn’t going to change your life, but it’s going to make your Mexico City trip smoother and more enjoyable than you might expect. The location really is the star here — being able to walk to restaurants, museums, and nightlife while having a peaceful place to come back to is worth a lot. The staff seems to genuinely care about making sure you’re comfortable, and for the price point, you’re getting solid value without any of those annoying hidden fees or unpleasant surprises that can derail a trip. It’s the kind of place that just works, you know?

Reviews of Singular Reforma
Kelly from Indonesia – 15 April 2025 (8/10)
Room was as in pictures and nice. Workspace was comfortable.
What could be improved: WiFi was unstable. Noise from construction at the back of the hotel. No hot water for tea/coffee, no drinking water given. Inconsistent communication – sometimes are quick to reply but other times takes multiple days.Thao from United States – 11 April 2025 (4/10)
Very good location
What could be improved: There were roaches in our hotel rooms. Some people book this place as a love hotel or venue for shooting, so a lot of loud sex noise or music. The staff were nowhere to be found.Hugo from Mexico – 9 April 2025 (9/10)

What could be improved: The staff at Singular Reforma stole my phone out of my room during my stay and are adamant that I "lost it" when we left the phone in the room during our use in the bathroom. The phone was stolen on March 21st and the staff is unresponsive about helping us or giving us access to the security cameras inside the building. They deny that anyone enters our room besides us during the period of it being stolen, despite the fact that someone shut the phone down and we searched every inch of the room and bathroom to find it. There is no one in this building that even seems to have the security camera footage handy or accessible by computer or phone, and the woman who answers at the line to the "front desk" is never inside the hotel building to show us the film. They continue to refuse to let us view the footage and claim they cannot watch it, even though we had been told by management that they did not see anyone going into our room while watching the film. DO NOT STAY HERE!

The location is the only thing that I liked about this property.
What could be improved: I do not have any choice but to say that my stay at this hotel was the worst among the last 16 years of travel experiences. I stayed from December 31, 2024, to January 6, 2025. I chose this hotel mainly because they have 24-hour front desks and I can communicate in English, according to the introduction to the hotel on Booking.com. Because I am not a fluent Spanish speaker, it was one of the biggest factors that made me decide to stay here. The hotel's post about its customer services, including the airport shuttle, also seemed really good. However, my actual hotel experience was pretty different from my expectations based on what I had been informed on the website. Before visiting Mexico City, I asked how I could request an airport shuttle to the hotel on the hotel’s WhatsApp account, but I have not heard any response. At that time, I did not know that it was just the beginning of my nightmare experiences there. Throughout my 7-day and 6-night stay, I saw only one staff who rarely took her place at the front desk, and the “24-hour front desk” was empty at most times. She could not speak English and only Spanish. The shower amenities or toiletries were never provided, unlike the introduction. The hotel even provided room cleaning service only once throughout my whole stay, though I kept asking the hotel to clean my room. It was different from what even the staff said: she explained that they clean the room every three days. The only means of communication from the hotel’s side that I could use, except the Google Translator, was their WhatsApp account, which provided a chat service in English. I kept asking to clean my room on WhatsApp, and I got the answer that they would relay my request to the cleaning staff. However, that made no difference at all. Their awful customer service continued even if I checked out of the hotel. They agreed to make a partial refund to me through Booking.com, but they didn't respond to even Booking.com's contact.Miguel from Mexico – 17 December 2024 (1/10)
