Tokio Ciento Diez Overview

First Impressions

Walking into Tokio Ciento Diez, you immediately get that this isn’t your typical three-star hotel. The name literally translates to “Tokyo 110” — a nod to its address on Tokio Street — and there’s something refreshingly straightforward about that. I mean, when a place doesn’t try too hard to sound fancy, it usually means they’re confident about what they actually offer. The lobby has this clean, minimalist vibe that feels more boutique than budget, and honestly, that set the tone for my entire stay.

Location Magic

Here’s what you need to know about the location — it’s absolutely stellar. I’m talking about being right in the heart of Mexico City without the chaos that usually comes with it. You’re on Tokio Street in the Roma Norte area, which locals will tell you is one of the coolest neighborhoods in the city. Within a five-minute walk, you’ve got incredible coffee shops, authentic taquerias, and some of the best street art I’ve seen anywhere. The couples who stay here consistently rate the location nearly perfect, and after spending time there, I totally get why.

The Room Experience

My room was compact but thoughtfully designed — everything had its place, and nothing felt cramped. The bed was surprisingly comfortable for a mid-range hotel, and the bathroom was modern with good water pressure (trust me, that matters after long days exploring the city). What I really appreciated was the attention to details — decent lighting for reading, enough outlets for your devices, and blackout curtains that actually work. You know what impressed me most? The soundproofing was excellent, which is rare in this part of the city.

Neighborhood Perks

The real magic happens when you step outside. Roma Norte is where young Mexico City professionals live and hang out, so you’re getting an authentic slice of local life rather than tourist central. There’s a fantastic restaurant called Pujol just a few blocks away (though you’ll need reservations), and honestly, some of the best meals I had were at tiny places within walking distance. The area feels safe to wander around, even in the evenings, and the tree-lined streets make for pleasant strolls between the cafes and galleries.

Why Guests Love It

Recent guests consistently rave about this place, and it’s not hard to see why — the location scores are through the roof for good reason. You’re getting boutique hotel vibes at a fraction of the price, in one of the city’s most desirable neighborhoods. The staff genuinely seems to care about your experience, and there’s something refreshing about a hotel that focuses on doing the basics really well rather than overwhelming you with unnecessary amenities. For couples especially, this hits that sweet spot of being romantic without being stuffy, central without being touristy.

Reviews of Tokio Ciento Diez

Location is so good! So much good food as soon as you walk out the door. The building felt very safe at all times and had no issues getting in. The cleaning ladies were always so nice and Marco the manager was so accommodating. The apartment was spacious and was very clean! We would definitely stay again!

What could be improved: We had no issues with the property!

  • Rocio from Mexico – 1 May 2025 (7/10)

    Excellent location.

What could be improved: The sheets and towels

  • Gabriella from Brazil – 8 April 2025 (9/10)

Apartamento simples mas útil, localização excelente, única parte ruim é não ter elevador, foi um sufoco conseguir subir e descer com as malas e a senha da porta de entrada dos apartamentos também poderia ser um pouco mais simples.

  • Kevin from United States – 2 April 2025 (7/10)

Great location, really nice room, and grateful for the fan. Finally, appreciated the communication.

What could be improved: The mattress was like sleeping on a cement block. I had a terrible time trying to sleep.

The shower door nearly fell off on me and is really unsafe.

The location cannot be beat. Located between Reforma and Chapultepec and about 20 min walk to the park, and Roma. Nice big homey apartment

    La ubicación

  • Isabel from Mexico – 8 January 2025 (8/10)

What could be improved: There was a lot of noise due to a construction next to the building, and the pictures don’t show the exact place where you are staying. Also, they never answered my messages in the Booking app.
