Reviews of Camino Real Polanco Mexico

  • Peter from United Kingdom – 24 May 2025 (9/10)

    Wonderful architecture

What could be improved: The buffet breakfast was busy and not relaxing, unlike the hotel otherwise

  • Rossina from United States – 17 May 2025 (9/10)

I have been to fine hotels all around the world during my 80 years of living. Definitely I would rate Camino Real as one of the 3 best hotels on this planet. I appreciated so much the upgrade given to us by Antonio when we first arrived at the front desk at around midnight the first day, and upon our return to New York at 5 am, he was also there when we checked out. He is to be commended for his excellent service. Your restaurants are superb. Our favorite was La Huerta where all the servers were gracious and helpful. We have never seen such an abundant and exquisitely prepared buffet in our lives! The desserts were works of art which were as delicious as they were beautiful to behold. I appreciated the waiters during all our 7 days eating in La Huerta charging us less if they noticed that we were not eating so much, even though we would say we were wanting buffets. We loved our room 2204!!!! What a view of that amazing garden too from our terrace!! We never heard any street noises such as cars, buses. The air even smelled clean, and all this in one of the largest cities in the world. We were concerned about the safety inside the hotel, and were pleased to see personnel in their uniforms stationed at every entrance. Thank you for making access to our rooms available only with our room card, making glass doors open automatically to the hallways leading to our rooms. We felt very safe. I liked how your personnel would escort my 95 year old husband to our room because sometimes he'd get lost in the vast areas connecting to the lobby.

What could be improved: There is nothing I didn't like. I was so happy every moment!

  • Jayne from United States – 24 April 2025 (9/10)

Coffee in the room , just ok. Didn't try the hotel coffee. thought a bit pricey.
My daughter and I like to explore so most meals out. Enjoyed my cocktail at the Blue Bar. Staff exceptional

What could be improved: shower facet broken in bathroom. Safe was a bit tricky.. numbers sticking.

  • Masaaki from Japan – 3 April 2025 (9/10)

The design is different from other hotels, with an entrance featuring a pond with artificial waves and a mixture of pink and yellow objects.
I was impressed by how friendly all the staff were and how they worked while maintaining an appropriate distance.
Established in 1968, it has already been built for more than 50 years, so although it looks old, I didn't really notice it as maintenance was always being done.

What could be improved: The hotel has been built for more than 50 years and may give the impression of being old-fashioned to some people, but the value of this hotel far exceeds that.

  • Harald from Germany – 1 April 2025 (9/10)

Great location in a safe neighborhood, very friendly and attentive staff, clean and spacious rooms, gym and heated outdoor pool (37 degrees Celsius), wonderful breakfast buffet

  • Hernando from United States – 8 March 2025 (9/10)

    Service, cleanliness, architecture.

What could be improved: Room was a little small. We were told we were upgraded to a bigger room, but even the entrance was tight.

  • Lisa from United States – 6 March 2025 (9/10)

    Beautiful spot.

What could be improved: There should be two nightstands in each room, on either side of the bed. My
Only complaint. We both need to plug in phones, etc.

  • James from United States – 24 February 2025 (9/10)

My wife and I stayed here while on vacation in Mexico City. The hotel is very nice and used by business people and vacationers alike. It is in a very nice location with plenty of places to eat nearby. It is also very close to museums like the Anthropology Museum. We were able to Uber and walk to all the places we wanted to see. The hotel itself is in an old convent and looks very cool / unique. The rooms are very modern, clean, and have plenty of room. Our room overlooked the courtyard and pool which was very nice. We enjoyed happy hour there and ate our breakfasts at the hotel too. The staff was very friendly and extremely helpful. We'd highly recommend the Camino Real and will stay again when we go to Mexico City.

What could be improved: We really had a great experience and don't have any complaints. It is a bit more expensive than we normally spend on hotels, but it was very clean, safe, and spacious so we felt it was worth it.

  • Hipp_31 from Honduras – 9 February 2025 (9/10)

The service, the food, the place. It is important to mention that an earthquake happened during our stay and we felt very safe as the hotel is designed in such a way that is safer for earthquakes. Not that many floors also.

  • Armando from United States – 8 February 2025 (9/10)

I forgot my glasses to read in the room after I checked out and returned them to me.

    Really appreciate it
