Hotel Casa Condesa Amatlan 84 Overview
First Impressions
Walking up to Hotel Casa Condesa Amatlan 84, you immediately get that this isn’t your typical chain hotel — and honestly, that’s exactly what makes it special. This three-star boutique property sits right in the heart of Condesa, and I mean right in the thick of things on Amatlan street. The building itself has this understated charm that fits perfectly with the neighborhood’s tree-lined streets and art deco architecture. You know what struck me most? How it manages to feel both intimate and polished without trying too hard.
The Condesa Advantage
The location here is honestly incredible — couples consistently rate it 9.5 out of 10, and after spending time in Mexico City, I totally get why. You’re literally surrounded by some of the city’s best cafes, galleries, and that famous Parque México is just a short stroll away. What I love about staying in Condesa is that you can walk to dinner at amazing spots like Pujol or just grab tacos from a street vendor — both are equally fantastic experiences. The neighborhood has this perfect mix of local life and cosmopolitan energy that makes you feel like you’re actually living in the city, not just visiting it.
Sleep Quality That Actually Matters
Here’s something that really matters when you’re exploring a massive city like this — the beds are genuinely comfortable. I mean, guests consistently rave about getting great sleep here, and after walking 15,000 steps around the city center, that’s not just a nice-to-have. Each room feels thoughtfully designed rather than cookie-cutter, with enough space to actually unpack and settle in. The overall vibe is clean and modern without being sterile, which honestly can be hard to find at this price point in such a prime location.
The Neighborhood Experience
What makes this place work so well is how it connects you to authentic Mexico City life. In the morning, you’ll hear the sounds of the neighborhood waking up — vendors setting up, people heading to work, the gentle hum of a city that’s been here for centuries. Condesa has this wonderful walkability that’s rare in Mexico City, and from here you can easily explore Roma Norte, hit up the weekend markets, or just people-watch in the parks. The recent guest rating of 9.6 for location isn’t just about convenience — it’s about being in a neighborhood that actually feels like Mexico City.
Why Guests Keep Coming Back
The 8.4 overall rating tells you something important — this isn’t about flashy amenities or over-the-top service, but rather about getting the fundamentals really right. You’ll sleep well, you’ll be perfectly positioned to explore, and you’ll feel like you’re staying somewhere with actual character. For travelers who want to experience Mexico City rather than just pass through it, this spot delivers exactly what you need without any unnecessary frills. It’s the kind of place that makes you want to extend your stay by a day or two, just to soak up more of that Condesa magic.
Locals suggest to book apartments in Mexico around Roma Norte for art-house cinemas, speakeasy cocktails, and brunch on shaded patios.

Reviews of Hotel Casa Condesa Amatlan 84
Olaf from Netherlands – 13 April 2025 (8/10)
What we liked:
+ super friendly staff
+ great location
+ beautiful building
+ loved the balcony
What we liked less:
– extremely small bathroom (I’m 1.90m and I couldn’t sit on the toilet without bumping my knees, nor take a shower without ducking).
– the materials and furniture all felt a bit cheap/IKEA-like.
– quite a lot of noise from the street at night (we were on the first floor on the street side).Kathleen from United States – 20 February 2025 (8/10)
Loved the location close to many restaurants and cafes. We had the room with the balcony which was a nice addition. Coffee in the morning was appreciated, although the banannas said to be there only showed up after our first 2 nights.
What could be improved: To start, there was a discrepancy with our reservation on the night we arrived at 10:30pm and we did not have a room. Luckily we were able to find a room in a nearby hotel (thanks to booking.com) and one of the staff were kind to take us there. The place is a bit more dated that you would expect from the photos. The bathroom was extremely small.Kelly from United States – 13 January 2025 (8/10)
Front desk was super nice and location felt safe. I thought the value was good for the price. Would recommend
What could be improved: Our room was on the ground floor so you could hear people coming in and out.Sara from Denmark – 25 December 2024 (8/10)
Clean room at great location. Friendly staff – overall great place
Ysunza from Italy – 17 November 2024 (8/10)
The place is located amazingly well, we honestly loved it, the amenities were great and the room was VERY clean, the staff was always very very helpful and SUPER kind, we really enjoyed our stay here. The bed was comfortable enough and the shower was hot and quick.
What could be improved: The only downside of this property is that you can hear everything from the room, so it’s a bit hard to fall asleep, but, once done you’re good to go.Rachel from France – 2 November 2024 (8/10)
Lovely staff and very clean and comfortable rooms with fluffy towels!
