Within walking distance, guests can discover the theatrical spectacle of Lucha Libre at Arena México, experience the artistic treasures of the Franz Mayer Museum, or explore the captivating exhibits at the Museo Nacional de Arte. Reviews of Hotel Catalina
Juzheng from Canada – 21 May 2025 (8/10)
What could be improved: Could upgrade windows to be more soundproof
Susanne from Australia – 11 May 2025 (8/10)
Very clean hotel, easy to find and close to public transport and close enough to the airport. Room size was adequate and there was a good fan in the room with a safe box to secure documents and a 14" laptop. Mexico Centrale is walkable. I would book this place again if I return to Mexico City.
Diego from United States – 17 April 2025 (9/10)
Everything the location and the access to the public transportation.
What could be improved: The rooms just need sound isolation after that everything perfect.Benton from United States – 30 March 2025 (8/10)
Safe and secure with very small rooms. The room service is fun and well priced
Ioana from Germany – 23 March 2025 (8/10)
Nice staff, clean, nice terrace, good value for money
What could be improved: Quite basic, not much natural light in the roomRachel from United States – 18 March 2025 (7/10)
Everything mostly. Loved my room and jacuzzi
What could be improved: The toilet didn't workLukas from Czech Republic – 21 February 2025 (8/10)
The room was clean, shower was spacious and water was hot enough with strong pressure. Bed was hard, as I prefer, so I had good sleep.
Metro and buses are in walking distance, as well as some shops and restaurants. However, it's not advised to walk on this street after sunset. But during the day, the area felt rather safe and clean.
What could be improved: There's noise on the street during the night and window was not isolating well. Nobody speaks English.Niek from Netherlands – 18 February 2025 (8/10)
Good facilities, decent location.
Comfortable bed with a good size.
Staff does not speak English, but most try hard to help.
What could be improved: Check-in lady was a bit rude, not really a warm welcome.
The weekend came with a lot of sex noises from the neighboring rooms.Scott from United States – 16 December 2024 (8/10)
Good location. Salto de agua market within walking distance. 2 subway stations nearby.
Tony from United Kingdom – 3 November 2024 (8/10)
The place was very quiet and clean, and the staff are wonderful. Bed is fantastic massive and super comfortable if you like a firmer bed which we do. Also metro line a couple of minutes walk. The price is fantastic , the shower is super. Very happy.
What could be improved: The location is still being updated with lots of new construction, at night its an area I wouldn't like to walk about so I chose Uber when coming home at night just to be on the safe side. That usually costs about 130 Passo so not bad considering the cost of some hotels in the center if you're on a budget.
One major point, I wouldn't advise booking a taxi through booking.com that says it books it through the hotel, the driver was not the driver we booked but we didn't realize this at the beginning because the driver that was supposed to be waiting with a board with our name on but he was definitely not there and after 25 minutes looking we got panicked because it says we get charged half the fair anyway if we don't show up after 30 minutes. So this guy basically dupped us and then charged us 1000 Passo,in fact he basically robbed us, should have cost 350-400 at first he said 2000 and then it all got very aggressive not a welcome you want especially when you are jet lagged . The best thing would be to book an Uber they are great in Mexico and avoid other taxis.
