One Ciudad de Mexico La Raza Overview

First Impressions

Walking into One Ciudad de Mexico La Raza, you immediately get the sense that this three-star hotel punches above its weight. The lobby has this clean, modern vibe that feels fresh without trying too hard — honestly, I was expecting something more basic given the price point. The staff greeted me in both Spanish and English, which I appreciated, and there’s this energy about the place that tells you they’re actually paying attention to details. The design choices throughout the public spaces reflect a thoughtful approach to hospitality that extends beyond typical budget accommodations.

Location & Getting Around

Here’s what I love about this spot in Mexico City — you’re in the Santa María Insurgentes neighborhood, which means you’re close enough to the action but not drowning in tourist crowds. The Circuito Interior location is actually brilliant because you can hop on the metro system easily, and I mean really easily. You know what surprised me? How many local restaurants are within walking distance, places where you’ll hear more Spanish than English, which is exactly what you want. The neighborhood itself offers authentic dining and shopping experiences that reflect the character of the city.

The Room Experience

My room was smaller than what you’d find in American chain hotels, but it was smart about space — everything had its place. The bed was genuinely comfortable (I’m picky about this), and the air conditioning worked perfectly, which matters more than you think in Mexico City. The bathroom was compact but well-designed, with good water pressure and plenty of hot water. I actually spent time by the window just watching the neighborhood come alive in the mornings, and the natural light made the space feel larger than it actually was.

What Makes It Special

The thing about One Ciudad de Mexico La Raza is that it feels authentically Mexican without being kitschy about it. The common areas have this relaxed atmosphere where you’ll see business travelers mixing with couples exploring the city — and speaking of couples, I totally get why they rate this place so highly. There’s something romantic about the rooftop area where you can see the city sprawling out around you. The hotel also has this quiet confidence; they’re not trying to be something they’re not, just doing the fundamentals really well. Staff members demonstrate genuine knowledge about local attractions and transportation options.

Why Guests Love It

Look, this isn’t a resort with a spa or fancy amenities, but that’s not the point. What you get is a solid base for exploring Mexico City that doesn’t break the bank but still feels thoughtful. The location really is top-notch — I could walk to interesting neighborhoods, catch public transport anywhere, and always felt safe coming back at night. Plus, the value is incredible; you’re getting way more than you’d expect for a three-star property. It’s the kind of place where you sleep well, start your day energized, and don’t spend your whole vacation budget on accommodation. The overall experience demonstrates that quality hospitality doesn’t require excessive amenities or inflated pricing.

Reviews of One Ciudad de Mexico La Raza

  • Rodolfo from Mexico – 4 March 2025 (7/10)

    Silence

    What could be improved: Food

  • Olga from Finland – 17 January 2025 (8/10)

A nice cosy hotel. A good breakfast, substantial, diverse. Not just bread and butter.

What could be improved: The shower isn't the most convenient for use. Also I had to wait 5-15 minutes. till the water gets hot enough. No chance to open the window for fresh air.

  • Amma from United States – 6 May 2024 (8/10)

Breakfast was really good and they had a variety of food. Daniel at the a receptionist was so nice, friendly and helpful. The shuttle driver, Francisco was also awesome.

What could be improved: I didnt care too much for the ladies at the reception in the afternoons

  • Amara from New Zealand – 16 April 2024 (8/10)

The breakfast was good. The staff was friendly and accomodating

What could be improved: The washroom basin was blocked and it took long to drain the water, every time we used it. The double beds were small in size , not good for a big family with 3 kids. There were two double beds in the room but not sufficient for us.

  • Mohammad from United States – 21 May 2023 (8/10)

    Good price n great place

  • Nolberto from United States – 28 January 2023 (8/10)

The staff was friendly and helpful. The rooms were clean. I also enjoyed the breakfast package that was included with my reservation.

What could be improved: The location is not the best. There is really nothing to do or places to visit nearby. You basically have to take taxis to go to the popular sites or historic downtown. Taxis get expensive fast. I would suggest that the hotel offer transportation or a shuttle to transport guests to attractions in the city at a minimal cost to the guests.

  • Ovando from Mexico – 1 January 2023 (9/10)

    good price and very clean

What could be improved: small place and everything ears
